Kevin "Pig Virus [Vomit]" Metheny, former program director for WNBC during Howard Stern's early days there. Paul Giamatti played him in the movie.

Re: RIP Thread
Somedays I can't tell if this is a thread to pay the respect to those that passed or a race to post the most obscure celebrity death you hear about.
Sterns 40 minute rant was pretty interesting. 2 minutes of "I feel sorry for the family" and 38 minutes comparing him to a Nazi Concentration Camp guard that enjoyed his job a little too much. Woof.

We have to make fun of some of the dead too.dodint wrote:Somedays I can't tell if this is a thread to pay the respect to those that passed or a race to post the most obscure celebrity death you hear about.

Re: RIP Thread
I'm all for making fun of the dead, it's the obscurity that gets me. When I see the thread pop to the top I hope isn't someone I like (Robin Williams) and usually it's some relatively obscure RKO voice actor or something.

Re: RIP Thread
I agree that Pig Virus is pretty obscure, but how do you feel about Geoffrey Holder or Paul Revere (of Paul Revere and the Raiders fame, not the revolutionary guy)?
There is quite an age range on this board...not as much since EPP got the boot...so younger folks may have no idea who Holder and Revere are while they are quite well-known to someone in my age range.

Re: RIP Thread
If it wasn't for this thread I probably wouldn't even know about some of these deaths until months or years later. I didn't even notice Geoffrey Holder died, and I am a mega James Bond fanFactorial wrote:This thread is for any deaths, good, bad, and or obscure.

That's fine. I'm commenting on the competive nature of it. I'm going to win by pulling obits out of the Havelock News-Times and running them through my flatbed scanner.Factorial wrote:This thread is for any deaths, good, bad, and or obscure.
The first time I heard Paul Revere Dick and knew his name was yesterday when Stern was playing one of their two big songs. That one is probably on me.

Re: RIP Thread
There are, or were at least, more than a few Stern fans here. Metheny played such a big role in developing Stern's radio persona, I figured it was notable.
