Re: Draft Dispersal Game - Roster Thread
Alright. NHL 14 bracket has been created. Here are your seedings (based on regular season voting and playoff seedings).
In the "Western" Conference (Foster Hewitt):
1 St. Louis v 8 Spokane Chiefs (WHL fodder)
2 Seattle v 7 Prince George Cougars (WHL fodder)
3 LA Kings v 6 NY Rangers
4 Iceland v 5 Hartford
In the "Eastern" Conference (Danny Gallivan):
1 California v 8 Shawnigan Cataractes (QMJHL fodder)
2 Montreal v 7 St Johns Sea Dogs (QMJHL fodder)
3 Toronto v 6 Magnitogorsk
4 Columbus v 5 TBD
Simulation will run after the finals are over.

Re: Draft Dispersal Game - Roster Thread
i had a lot of driving time this weekend and was thinking about this probably more than i should have.
i found it strange that we were criticized for steve ott being a 4th line center in a league of this caliber when a team rostered kyle turris as a second line center?

I was criticized almost universally for having Kyle Turris as a second line center...in fact, I criticized myself. It was the weakest point of my team. Though, I believe Turris got a short straw from the voters, I can't say I blamed them...who would have watched the Sens last season...? Should be able to top 60 points though this year, which is nothing to sneeze at...

Alright simulation will happen either later tonight (after I get back from an 8:30 fall league game) or tomorrow.

Or I could do it now-ish, since the only stuff I need to do for my class is type 2 essays.

Kyle Turris responds with hat tricks in consecutive games, leading Montreal to a sweep.mikey287 wrote:I was criticized almost universally for having Kyle Turris as a second line center...in fact, I criticized myself. Re: Draft Dispersal Game - Roster Thread
That's because Kyle Turris brings the funk as well as the noise...hopefully people notice how far he's come now that there's no Jason Spezza to overshadow him...he's gonna handle it all on his own, likely with his partner in crime last season, Clarke MacArthur and maybe the magnanimous help from his superfriend Bobby Ryan...
That said, ideally, he's a #2 center in the big show...

How did your team do in relation to real life...?
