I didn't think much of it, until I went to the beer market in Kitty Hawk. The prices for this beer are absolutely outrageous. Pounders going for $5.50. And this isn't an expensive place in general, it has very reasonable prices for other stuff.

When you go to check RateBeer and BA scores, all of their beers rank in the 70s.
I always wondered about that place. Guess I'll cease to wonder. ;)

I had Duclaw's Brown Ale (Dirty Little Freak?) this weekend. Fairly interesting beer. Chocolatey and roasty taste, then a hint of something that reminded me of peppermint.

An overwhelming average response from the lgp gallery on bells brown. What other Browns do you guys like? I have the Sierra Nevada tumbler & it got me in the mood for some brown ales.

Indian Brown Ale from DFH is a reliably excellent offering. Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar is also delicious

Weyerbacher Blasphemy is like whiskey watered down with a quad. I'm not sure I should be drinking it at 5 on a Wednesday.

I like Brooklyn Brown Ale. That said, if you like browns, you're not far away from old ales, which I think have more character. Shaht aht to Old Peculier.

I do believe this is going to be a Weihenstephaner kind of weekend. I've got all this hefe, dunkel weiss and vitus staring at me and it's not gonna drink itself. Plus I housed the last growler from Arsenal last weekend so I have no excuses.

where did you try them at troy?

Kenny the kangaroo really liked brew gentlemen cucumber wheat (called garden party or something like that) and it was really refreshing as well. Goofy flavored beers usually aren't this gentleman's thing, but cucumber was strangely good.

also, for eddy, this gentleman also recommends helltown's brown ale.
