The one where I think it was Antonio Gates in the hot tub with Ruxin was one of the best. J.J. Watts first one was also good. The show has lost a lot of it's staying power though.dodint wrote:I'll give you that. It's funnier if you watch it knowing that Pete (Mark Duplass) is married to her (Jenny/Kate Aselton) in real life. The Kevin character is the weakest, I think because he's supposed to be the straight man but ultimately there isn't one in the bunch.
Some episodes are better than others. A lot of times the guest spots make an episode, like the ones Aziz Ansari. If you look at the notable guest stars list on Wikipedia it's pretty stout.

Re: TV Shows
This. The show started off extremely slow IMO, and I thought it was going to be axed even though it had so much potential. Towards the end it picked up, and I'm so glad the network picked it up. Hopefully it last until they can tell the complete story. I love this time period in history and the war.dodint wrote: TURN got picked up on AMC, which I'm very happy about since it started slow enough that it was a big question mark whether it would continue.

There is a girl on this season of amazing race that has one arm. im going to go ahead and say they are in need of some ratings, which is a bummer.
I havent caught up on Fargo, but am I reading correctly that the 2nd season cast will be completely different than the 1st, like True Detective? i get why its going on with TD and American Horror Story, but i was kind of surprised to read that.
anybody that watches Fargo chime in on this?

Yes, but it made occasional references to a second event that happened in the past involving one of the main characters, which will be covered in Season 2.canaan wrote:was season one a completed story arc?

They had a girl with one leg several years ago. But yeah, they're hurting when it comes to ratings.canaan wrote:There is a girl on this season of amazing race that has one arm. im going to go ahead and say they are in need of some ratings, which is a bummer.

Re: TV Shows
What is the point of this Utopia show on FOX, just a bunch of randoms participating in a year long reality show with no prize? What are the chances this show isn't cancelled? It is happening Big Brother style with live feeds and everything.

Isn't American horror story same cast but completely different stories each season? Never saw it. Need to add it to the list with Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels and Sons of Anarchy.

I fell asleep about half way through. Last thing I remember was Julia deciding the gurney had to be tied down while they were driving and Barbie managing to hit a patch of ice and crash the ambulance. I wonder if the writers really think ice can appear in the road simply because it's cold and despite there being no rain (wasn't the huge dust storm like 4 days ago?) to freeze or if they are aware it was impossible for there to be ice in the road and said, "Screw it, everything else about this show sucks anyway so we're going to defy all logic."

Re: TV Shows
So you missed the part where they couldn't decide what to do, then killed her on purpose so he could carry her for what has to be an hour or so, then revive her with a kitchen stove? That's a damn shame, man.

I'm half way through and would go on record as saying it's pretty good, though I've heard the 2nd half is better. The song from the closing credits is stuck in my head.Froggy wrote:I would like to state on record in this thread that I think Bojack Horseman is pretty great

Re: TV Shows
Utopia is, if possible, an even more terrible version of temptation island. if it lasts more than a month, it would be strictly because of FOX feeling pot committed for the run.
and yeah, bojack horseman is awesome.

Liking Outlander through 3 episodes.
Falling Skies - what an unseen (literally) twist in the end, setting up a final season in 2015.

Re: TV Shows
I couldn't believe they chose Over the Sea to Skye - something sung in choral circles when I was in high school almost 25 years ago. The arrangement used on the show is a really good one, I hadn't heard it sung by a single voice before. I hadn't paid attention to the multiple sets of lyrics out there for the tune -- seems as if the show uses the Robert Louis Stevenson lyrics.Idoit40fans wrote:I have t decided on outlander yet, but the intro song is pretty great.
(Though the tune is said to chronicle the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746, it is being used in the female version (lass instead of lad) for the show set in 1743)
