9-7. Offense will have to win them games this year. Hopefully we will see the no huddle at non obvious times (i.e when Steelers are behind and time is running out or they are down by a lot). But I can't wait for the up the guy one yard runs to start drives. Whoo.

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
If the Steelers go anywhere from 6-10 to 8-8 would you fire Tomlin? Assume there are no horrifying disasters, injuries that would excuse missing the playoffs (eg Ben missing 70% of the season), etc. -- they just have a mediocre season and play mediocre ball.
Personally, I'd give him one more year.

You left out the element of a mediocre roster.

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
Well, that would play into whether you'd give him another year. If you think the ceiling if Bill Walsh was coaching them is 9-7, then Tomlin going 8-8 isn't fireable, right?

if we're operating under the assumption that the world ends after the roethlisberger competitive window. Tomlin should be fired if they go 8-8.

Colbert needs to go if they don't make the playoffs again regardless of why. He built this team and that includes backups for injuries.pens9192 wrote:What do you do with Kevin Colbert then?
Not a fan of Tomlin, if they miss becuase of injuries I guess you can say it's not his fault but I have seen a lot of lazy and inept play at all times preseason to regular games. The slopiness of the preseason where our starters look like crap against backups is coaching.
The Steelers should not miss the playoffs three years in a row. I know Cowher did it in 98-00 and Noll did it 4 years in a row in the late 80's but in sports today 3 years is much to long. tomlin was right place, right time in 2008 much like Bylsma in 2009. When they get their fingerprints on the roster and style their defeciencies started to show.

Lance Moore ruled out of Sunday's game with a groin injury. I would guess Wee Bey gets bumped to third WR.

I feel like NAN in that I want to start a thread for this, but I'll resist.
James Harrison retired at Steelers HQ today...and took a final jab at Goodell.

Then he went into the team gym and did this:

CBS is totally ready for Johnny Clipboard. They keep cutting to him getting off the bus or tossing the football around in his little baseball cap and Beats By Dre. The guy has being a *****bag down to a science. I can only assume he's got TapOut gear on under the mandated NFL merch.

Got Sunday Ticket Max. It's a few hundred bucks but you'll get every 1pm/4pm game of the year on mobile devices. Or buy an antenna.

Sunday Ticket is the best thing ever invented. Not being force fed watching local Steeler games is great. Have had sunday ticket for quite a while, and its worth every penny(usually discounted though haha).

I get enough out of the red zone channel that I'd never see myself wanting Sunday ticket

Re: Official 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread
I like to be able to watch full games. I get the Redzone Channel as well, but being out of market I want to be able to watch full 49er games not just redzone/TD plays. Plus with a 2 tv + monitor setup I can have 3-4 games all going at one time in one room. Overkill for some, but i love it.shmenguin wrote:I get enough out of the red zone channel that I'd never see myself wanting Sunday ticket
