Watched the first episode of Sherlock yesterday... I'm really digging it. Looking forward to more episodes.

Great show. The acting is top notch and it appears to be really big budget.

Watched the Save By the Bell documentary last night on Lifetime. It was ok. Had a tough time looking past how dumb the kid they cast to play Zach looked.

Re: TV Shows
Finally made it through the 2nd ep of HoW 4th season. Was ready to watch another but ended up watching the PSU replay instead. HoW looks like it is going strong, with the introduction of the provisional governor and his crew.

Re: TV Shows
Summer is pretty bleak for TV viewing.
Although I'll miss the weather and late sunsets, I'll be glad to get some decent TV back.

Re: TV Shows
With the 90 minute format and no commercials it's almost like watching a movie. The production quality is amazing for a TV show which is probably why there are just 3 episodes a series.PensFanInDC wrote:Great show. The acting is top notch and it appears to be really big budget.

Yeah, Sherlock is great. Not so great is waiting 18 months between series. But it's worth the wait.

Re: TV Shows
I just finished season 3 of Sherlock and thought it was a step down from seasons 1 and 2...just so much focus on the John/Mary/Sherlock relationship. I guess I prefer when the focus is on the cases and not the relationships. And...

Re: TV Shows
I thought season 3 was right on par with the first two. Every episode of that show has been great.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:largegarlic wrote:I just finished season 3 of Sherlock and thought it was a step down from seasons 1 and 2...just so much focus on the John/Mary/Sherlock relationship. Re: TV Shows
They should have developed better so gs to build the second season around. I hope they have done that at this point or at least put a better set of episodes together. I thought the second season was pretty bad.Gaucho wrote:Unexpected but welcome.

Tbh, it is entirely possible that I've never even seen the 2nd season.Idoit40fans wrote:They should have developed better so gs to build the second season around. by the way "so gs" would sometimes be referred to as "songs".

Re: TV Shows
That's a common affliction of many musical acts. The first record is a good indicator of the band's quality, because they spend years with that material. They may have performed the songs like 300 times before setting foot in a studio with a producer. The second record is usually a collection of material that was rejected (for whatever reason) for the first record and few new tunes. It may only take two or three records to get to a point where the material is as new to the band as it is to the listener, and sometimes the quality just isn't there. That's why I don't mind it when bands like Tool take six or eight years between releases (altho in their case, there's pending litigation gumming the works) - I want the music to be polished.Idoit40fans wrote:They should have developed better so gs to build the second season around. I don't totally agree with you on the quality of the 2nd season, but the part of me that does thinks that might be the reason.

Face off on Syfy is way more entertaining than I thought it would be. Basically a Project Runway for nerds

Re: Flight of the Choncords
Supposedly Jemaine tweeted that he misspoke, and it's not really Flight of the Conchords...just some show he (they?) are doing four episodes of for HBO.
I avoided watching season 2 for several years, since I heard it was a big drop off from season 1, but I finally watched it this summer when Amazon got most of the old HBO catalog. I didn't think the songs in season 2 were as good, but there were still some fantastic episodes. The one with the benefit concert for epileptic dogs is one of my favorites.
