Re: Hayes to the Rags
Looking at their forward squad I don't get his choice.
Here's what I'm thinking their lineup could look like:
Nash – Stepan – St Louis
Kreider - Brassard – Zuccarello
Hagelin – Lombardi – Stempniak
Mueller – Moore – Fast
Hayes, Glass, Miller
Nieves
Where does he break the top nine?
Look at the Pens for example:
Bennett – Crosby – Kunitz
Hornqvist – Malkin – Downie
Comeau – Sutter – Dupuis
Adams – Goc – Spaling
His competition is not at all as stiff, and he's got a chance to even crack the top six and play with one of best centers in the world.

Re: Hayes to the Rags
I would guess he could knock Stempniak down to the 4th, possibly if Mueller doesn't pan out for them.

I feel like Hartford/Connecticut (AHL) have done a pretty decent job developing forwards recently...so maybe that had a factor...knowing he's local to home and local-er when (if?) he gets sent down...and he gets good coaching...

Re: Hayes to the Rags
If this guys turns out to be the real deal... I'll be a little sad. If he turns out to be a bum, then its fitting he signed with the Rags.
