Re: TV Shows
Yeah, I'd be curious about how the X-Files holds up. I really liked it when it initially aired when I was in high school and college, but gradually got fed up with the overarching government conspiracy plot that didn't seem to be going anywhere and didn't watch the last several seasons.

General HoW comment. I really grew tired of Eva during season 3 and she's done nothing to improve my opinion so far this season.

That is exactly how I stopped watching it during the first run as well.largegarlic wrote:Yeah, I'd be curious about how the X-Files holds up. I was huge X junkie in the day; saw them all, movies too. One of the great tv tragedies that it peetered out in the last couple seasons, imo. Still, see them at your leisure, because there's a ton of great in there.PensFanInDC wrote:6 episodes into season 1 of The X-Files. Before this I had only seen 1 episode and both movies. The episode and the first movie were really good. I wasn't sure I was going to get into it but it really is a fantastic show.

She annoys me as well. The only character I really don't like.the wicked child wrote:General HoW comment. I really grew tired of Eva during season 3 and she's done nothing to improve my opinion so far this season.

Re: TV Shows
I just watched a seriously done mocumentary which retold WW1 as an attach from Mars, basically "War of the Worlds" but they used WW1 footage with the tripods inserted.dodint wrote:Any firey anger I have for Discovery doing this is just a remnant of my burning hatred for the takedown of TLC. It's hard enough getting folks to learn something new, tossing in fictional documentaries just makes it worse. Leave it to SyFy.Idoit40fans wrote:It was the extended cut of last year's. Anyone who was anged by it had to have been angered because they were tricked. I sat there laughing the whole time because it was less believable than the mermaid one.dodint wrote:Did they actually make one this year or is this trollbait? They pissed everyone with an IQ higher than 80 off last year with the Megalodon fauxumentary and this year they're tripling down three more fiction shows, one of being MOAR megalodon. I'm hoping your statement complete with missed spelling is just deeply clever sarcasm.Idoit40fans wrote:The megaladon documentary on shark week is stellar.

So... Under the Dome last night...
Loved the scene where Barbie is hacking his VIP dad's computer, dad walks in and catches him and Barbie obviously is stalling to keep him from looking at the screen. "Oh, hey, look at this picture of Mom, not your computer. I've always loved this. Where was it taken." Meanwhile dad doesn't catch on to the ruse that wouldn't have fooled a 5 year old...
I also loved how carefree Joe was when filming his vlog about 20 yards away from the exact spot where his sister was brutally murdered. How long ago was that anyway - 4 days?
I think the show has become a parody. I certainly get plenty of laughs out of it.

Didn't read your post beyond the first line, wicked thunderstorm knocked out my dish until 10:38pm so I'll have to wait till it hits Amazon on Friday. I'll be back with irrational complaints about a TV show then.

I'll say one thing, the opening credits look very 90s. By that I mean low budget and outdated.largegarlic wrote:Yeah, I'd be curious about how the X-Files holds up. X-files and the Twighlight Zone are my two favorites to watch at night when my youngest daughter is not sleeping well.

Finished The Wire. Now I am sad. Enjoyed the 5th season a lot more than I thought I would. Wrapped everything up fairly nicely, I thought.
Deadwood next? Or should I bother getting involved with Dr. Who?

My wife and I refer to how a series ends on the "Michael C. Hall Scale". Terrible being Dexter and Perfect being Six Feet Under.
