Shazbot!
RIP Robin.
Ironic he starred in The Crazy Ones last season.
Wonder if the cancellation pushed him over the edge.

Very rarely am I saddened by a celebrity death. This one stings. It stings real bad.

I never knew him, never met him, just enjoyed his comedy, so I'm not deeply saddened by this. I do think there will be times later down the road where I'll see a movie and say, "you know who would have been awesome in this? Robin Williams." I do the same now with Chris Farley.

You've got to be crazy. It's too late to be sane, too late. You've got to go full tilt bozo cause you're only given a little spark of madness and if you lose that, you're nothing.

My favorite teacher ever (Mr Stiles, had him for sophomore and senior English) was very much like the character Williams played in that movie.ajh2298 wrote:Was just telling my oldest son last night that Good Will Hunting could be my favorite movie just because of Williams performance.

Re: RIP Thread
Damn it. Such a cool performer, my Dad liked him so I've been watching him literally all of my life. He had some of his old old stand up on VHS and it was unreal. I just watched GWH last week, always good. That said, as dark as he could be this isn't a huge surprise. Very sad regardless.
I'll probably never watch World's Greatest Dad ever again, ffs.

Re: RIP Thread
I just watched the movie he made with Mila Kunis. The Angriest Man in Brooklyn I think it is called. He had such a great range of characters that it wasn't just comedy that he did well. Shame that it appears he took his own life. RIP

It wad hard to figure out what the real Robin Williams was like, as he was always "on" even in interviews. That might not be the easiest wayto go through life.

Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But Doctor... I am Pagliacci."

That's always been robin. Very apt. This has hit me harder than I thought it would. I loved his comic sense.GSdrums87 wrote:Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. I always thought him a joker or a class clown type and I see a lot of myself in him, but some of his best work has been his non-comedic roles. What dreams may come, good will hunting, renaissance man, one hour photo...bummer. Depression has always been an afterthought in this country.i know it won't change, but imagine the possibilities.
