Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Initially, I was going to use this pick to find a similar player like Nielsen, just on the right side: someone who I felt could comfortably move up or down the roster when needed and fill in multiple roles. Couldn't find that player. I wanted to fill out the roster and complete it, picking up a right-side player. Couldn't really find someone who played with a lot of energy and power that was a consistent player throughout the year last year. Decided upon Smith-Pelly because of his time playing on the top line of the Ducks during the playoffs; he knows what it's like to play against high-quality opponents all the time. I personally don't think he's a top-line winger yet, but he'll do a good job of running the cycle and acting the grinder.
Also, on a random note, I was going to go with Killorn, but went with Nielsen due to his versatility. I think Killorn's a really good pick.

DSP crossed my mind for a minute...but it wasn't the direction I wanted to go, ultimately...my DSP is Brent Burns...he's a fine selection though, and wouldn't look out of place as 12th/13th forward at this level I don't believe...

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I'm going to start inputting players into NHL 14 (for fun). Also want to do custom jerseys (because it'll be boring otherwise), so if you want something specific in the way of design/color/logo, shoot me a PM.

Up - to - date rosters have been added. Will continue to add players as draft progresses. Haven't touched uniforms yet until I get some input.

Ok, that worked. Once we get everything squared away, I'll post an NHL 14 simming thread (with pictures).

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
My bad. Was in the Poconos this weekend with my famille and checked here right before SolidSnake made his pick.
Also, of course Shaw gets picked right before I'm about to pick him =(

Hey don't give other people ideas...
Boedker is a great pick. Didn't think anybody knew about him playing in the desert. Definitely been considering him for a few rounds. Blazing speed.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I like Gorges here because he makes Myers or Green (whoever wants to forget how to play D first) easily replaced in the lineup. I'm not even quite sure why the Habs traded him in the real world. Maybe Mikey has some insight.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
A lull in the action, so a sneak peak at what I'm doing in NHL 14:
Team Iceland:

California Golden Seals:

Also have Montreal and Hartford done, since they're the simplest.
