I'm a big Nick Leddy fan. Has some of the best first two steps among defensemen. Tough kid, too. Always takes the hit to make a play. Hockey tough.

Agree. He's one of the best skating defensemen in the NHL.meow wrote:I'm a big Nick Leddy fan. Has some of the best first two steps among defensemen. Tough kid, too. Always takes the hit to make a play. Hockey tough.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Will have my pick in shortly; going through a couple stats.
K, drafted. Nielsen was a guy I've eyed for a couple rounds now; however, his poor faceoff ability kept me from picking him. I'm planning on playing him out of position, on one of the two wings of the 4th line (not sure which). He'll be able to fill in very easily in the higher lines if an injury occurs. Good playmaker, smart; not the most physical, but good awareness. Not really great at anything, but pretty good at a lot of things. Does a decent job of shutting down opponents at times, and also has decent offensive skills.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Nielson would have been our pick as our 5th center. Foligno is a great grinder type of player for the 4th line. Can play any forward position and is an incredibly hard worker, just the type of guy I like on the ice.

Nice pick, Mikey. I had him lined up for my AC position.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I think we're just building a full team. We all have 25 picks (I think? 300 slots... 12 teams... 300/12=25. It works!), and we only really need 20 for the hockey team (12 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goalies). That leaves 5 picks to do whatever.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I was planning on healthy scratches. Certain players have attributes that would match up better against one team's style of play vs another team, so my line-up will likely be fluid through the "season"

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I think it would be silly to not have at least a 22-man roster. But look, we want you to express yourself, okay? Now if you feel that the bare minimum is enough, then okay. But some people choose to have more and we encourage that, okay? You do want to express yourself, don't you?

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
The post is better than the pick, no doubt. I needed a spare RW, I doubt he's in my 12, but he's going to have a terrific season with Jason Spezza on a very up-tempo Dallas team. For fantasy players, 55-60 points from a very late round draft pick, especially if the Stars PP woes are remedied...

Yeah after I posted that, I realized he was carrying along with Spezza, but I wasn't willing to backpedal.
