Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Glad to see my Lehtonen pick was well-received. Agree with you guys; I think he's really a quality goaltender and has become a lot more consistent over the years. Picked him particularly because of his positioning and his puck-moving skills as well; being able to control the puck well will take some pressure off my defensemen, which I consider at the moment to be the weak link of the team. More puck control = more possession.
Hertl falls into the Kuznetsov / Soderberg / Lupul picks for me; I'm going to need to be sold on their consistency. I think they have the talent, but I'm personally not convinced that they can do it over the long haul (with Lupul's history especially).
As for coaching, I think this is a decent enough time to get the coach. To me, the top 9 is much more important than the 4th line, and a good coach can overcome a poor coach. However, I agree with Mikey & think that Babcock isn't lightyears above everyone else; nonetheless, if you've got the guy in mind that's perfect for your gameplan and you're not dead set on getting any players, why not? The Babcock pick is a reach, but if he's your target, get him.

It's like drafting a kicker or a d early in fantasy football, or no kicker at all #kraftster

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
I looked at what I needed vs who's available and figured tier 1 coach is more important than a fourth liner, bottom pair D man or tier 2 goalie.

Is Bylsma (or any other unemployed coach) eligible for the draft?

Yes, sans retired ones. The key word is "reasonable".columbia wrote:Is Bylsma (or any other unemployed coach) eligible for the draft?

Great energy pick-up for the 4th line. Won't get a lot of points but is hell to play against.

Team Iceland not having a Staal (and subsequently misspelling it Stahl) seems like a missed opportunity to me.

He can still grab the 4th one to ride the bench.

The fourth one isn't good enough to play in the Junior Goodwill Games against Trinidad and Tobago.Beveridge wrote:Dickie Dunn wrote:Team Iceland not having a Staal (and subsequently misspelling it Stahl) seems like a missed opportunity to me.

I can still make a trade...
My next pick for 2 out of the 3 Staals.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Considering I'm the only one who could do that atm...
Nope.
But throw in Thornton or Keith, and we could do some negotiations, haha.
Nope.
