I cannot stand people that needlessly honk. Great example: city street. The guy first in line is turning right. There are pedestrians to whom the car must yield. Guy three cars back starts slamming his horn.
Look, dude, the first car didn't just decide to hold you up.

I only honk if the person in front of me can go somewhere but isn't (i.e. at a light that has turned green and there is nothing in their way) or if someone is on their way to hit my car (i.e. changing lanes but doesn't see me).

I'm down with this. I hate frequent honkers, and people who honk because others are following the law of the land.TheHammer24 wrote:I cannot stand people that needlessly honk. I'm a jerk, so if you honk at me for one of these reasons, I'm just going to take my time and slow down and make you even more mad.
I think in 20 years of driving, I've honked my horn 10 times, and mainly because people almost hit me.

My sister dots her Facebook posts with LOL as if she's using it for punctuation. I have a friend that does that. Every fb post ends in lol even when he seems like it's not trying to evoke laughter from anyone, about anything.JS© wrote:My sister dots her Facebook posts with LOL as if she's using it for punctuation. OMG, this times 1,000,000. That irks me to no end.Letang Is The Truth wrote:people that like their own facebook status
I have a friend in Malaysia who had a penchant for posting race result spoilers as his FB status like as the cars were crossing the finishing line. And he always 'liked' the post..... that's a double whammy in Facebook's algorithms - friend updates status, and friend likes something. As a result, it was virtually guaranteed to be among the first things I saw on social media when I got up. I asked to to exclude me from those posts, and he never did. So I stopped following him.

It's a typeface that manages to make Comic Sans look sophisticated and classy. It was specifically designed to look like a young child's handwriting. Why an adult would want to use that is beyond me.shafnutz05 wrote:So we use Microsoft Lync at work...there is this girl I am working with now that not only uses ridiculous font sizes/colors etc, but changes her font every day. Ordered dinner from a place going off their menu on the website. My order was about $5 more than expected because the prices apparently went up. That should be the first and easiest thing to update. I've stumbled upon a few places that have had old prices on their site for way way longer after they actually changed them.

Continuing with the restaurant theme:
When I ask for napkins AND there is a toddler at the table....bring me the mother lovin' napkins now.

Pencils given to you to fill out an order sheet (a la Stackd) that aren't sharpened/extremely dull.

The concept of giving 2 weeks notice when you're leaving a job. If my employer wanted to get rid of me I would be brought in the office, told that this is my last day and escorted out the door (yes, Ive experienced this), but if I decide to leave Im expected to give them 2 weeks to find and train a replacement.

Irrational indeed. The 2 weeks is offered as consideration. If you are leaving the job because you hate it and don't care about a burnt bridge then by all means come in at the end of a Friday and tell them you won't be there on Monday. If you liked the job and/or the people and you don't want to burn a bridge and/or a reference then 2 weeks notice is what you should give. I've been laid off before and I've been fired before. When I was laid off I was given 1 weeks notice which was nice because it gave me a week head start on a job hunt while still putting in hours. When I was fired, well, they didn't want me there and I wasn't going to get a reference so no notice was given.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Is is just me or does every fast food place now give you your drink first and then the straw is with the food? I could swear they used to hand you the straw with your drink so you could drink while waiting for your food but instead you have to wait until you get your food to get a straw. I'm sure it is because it is easier to put a straw in a bag instead of handing it to you with cups and then you drop the straws and they spent extra $$$ on straws. Its not a big deal but it seems like there was some national fast food convention and they all decided to stop giving you straws with your drink.
