Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
lol, I only went after you said that. Weird. It's also strange to me that Ben Bishop and PK Subban both got contract extensions after I drafted them. Now I'm not saying that Montreal and Tampa Bay saw that I drafted them and said, "ya know, we should lock these guys up since c2i likes them" but that's exactly what happened.

It's funny, because when I visited NHL.com earlier and saw the front page, I immediately thought of this draft and wondered if Henrique was still available.count2infinity wrote:lol, I only went after you said that. Oh, and please pick Sutter next.

Henrique was my next choice after Stepan. Was initially going with him because he's left-handed (Stepan is a righty), but then hoped he was gonna fall to me in the next round. Good choice.

Really excited to get Tyson Barrie, for poolies, keep an eye on him in your one-year leagues...dynasty players should have drafted him two years ago at least...but he might a new name for one-year players...

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Wanted to go Center to finish off the middle but everyone I had an eye on went in the previous picks. Decided to go another direction. We need a blue liner for the 1st PP unit and Mike Green is good enough to keep people honest and not shadowing Ovechkin at the other point. This completes a blue line that even though it doesn't house big names, it houses guys who do their job and Mike Green.
Paul Martin is a wizard and I feel Mike Green can play some solid defense paired with said wizard.

But no seriously, I'm curious to see how Mike Green does this year as the #4/#5 dman on his team. With Trotz, he might be able to regain his form... or he could dwindle away into the space.

excited to get both players that we did. krieder on third line is huge with his size and speed. we could slot dustin brown to RW with he and hanzal and have a good line.
if niskanen repeats, huge steal.

yeah, I'm not sure how to evaluate Niskanen at this point. He had a big year last year, but was it a one and done or was it the start to a great dman? Only time will really tell.Letang Is The Truth wrote: if niskanen repeats, huge steal.

at this point in the draft, its worth it to buy that upside. he was a top 10 defender last year arguably

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
and even if he doesnt repeat, there have already been 50 defenders taken (just counted). i think its pretty safe that he is one of the 50 best defenders. very pleased with the value

I am a big Hagelin fan. Plays with speed, plays smart, makes you pay if you miss a step.

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
Yeah, I think the world of Enstrom for what he has to deal with (Buff, and to a lesser extent, young Bogosian)...extremely smart player, good at offense and defense. I wasn't thrilled with my defense until I just rounded it out there with young Barrie and another #1 d-man. So, I think that's reasonable to say there's four #1 d-men back there: Hedman, Bouwmeester are locks. Giordano and Enstrom a case can be made for. Enstrom for his career makes a very good case...Giordano last season really was terrific, and should have been higher in the Norris balloting probably, but played on such a lousy team. It was the best year of his career, easily. Then Trouba, Barrie and, if needed, Brent Burns...pretty good with that. Each of the four #1's have received All-Star/Norris votes in the last four seasons at some point or another...Trouba was a strong candidate for the non-MacKinnon Calder Trophy...

Yeah, but who's going to clear the crease? Who's going to brazenly leave his position or assignment to go for a meaningless hit? Who's going to entertain the crowd by constantly falling down?

Hmm...good point. Which is these guys is going to mess up...I guess I could coach Trouba or Giordano into getting dumber...
I need to trade up and snag Eddie Olczyk as a coach...

Re: Dispersal Draft Game - Discussion Thread
There were two players picked that forced me to change up my strategy. First was both Weber & Doughty getting taken before my pick - I was going to go defense & goaltender heavy. Second was Giordano being picked: I was going to go for non-flashy but very sound defensemen like him, McDonagh, and Martin. Lots of very good picks these past couple rounds.

You didn't so much change your strategy as completely throw it out the window ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
