Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
My girlfriend gets a radler at the Hofbrauhaus usually. This stuff came in 10oz cans and had I think 3.8%. If you want something like that get Bud Light Lime, IC Light Mango, or even better a Leinenkugel beer.

Is this supposed to be Summerfest? I've never heard of Summer Camp. If it is Summerfest, holy crap that is pricey.count2infinity wrote:Went down to the bottle shop and grabbed a 12er of the sierra nevada summer camp. was the next to last one they had. little pricey at $27. hopefully it's worth it.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
No no... this is their collaboration effort with 12 other breweries. Each beer in the 12 pack is between Sierra Nevada and some other brewery... eddy posted all the different breweries and the beer they put into the 12 pack.shafnutz05 wrote:Is this supposed to be Summerfest? The first beer on that list is the Allagash I had today. It was a little hoppy. I thought it was ok.eddysnake wrote:$24. Apparently they brew exclusively for this pack. I'm gonna snag one next week

The one I'm actually most excited to try is the rye bock. Oskar Blues is one of my favorite breweries, and I love rye.

Also tried the Geestelijke. A bit more on the sour side compared to the Goedenacht. I like the latter much better.

New Glarus is high on my beer bucket list. I understand that it is not available outside of Wisconsin other than as a gray market beer. I also understand that they make great sours and sell them at very reasonable prices.

Have we really come to deadspin ranking beer? Based on, well everything they've posted on beer in the past, they've shown they know dick about beer.

Lolol at the first comment:
Garbage, ranked:
1) Deadspin ranked articles
2) Meat that's been sitting in the can for three days
3) Garbage water
4)Week-old vegetables sitting at room temperature
5) Molded items
6) All other garbage

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I hadn't been to Draai Laag since December. They completely rearranged things inside since then. They used to have the bar at the back wall with maybe 4 or 5 seats and just a few tables. Now, the bar is along the right wall and has significantly more seats. They have a lot more tables as well. The back wall where the bar used to be was nothing but stacks of boxes of bottles of beer.
It got really crowded while we were there. By the time we left, there was what wallflower referred to as a "sea of bros" in the open area next to the bar. Getting/paying the bill proved a challenge due to that.
However, it was nice to see that they've grown. They make some damn good beer, easily my favorite local brewery. And since they've started teaming up with local food carts and such, you have an option for food now.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Started the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp tonight:
New Glarus Brewing Company, New Glarus, WI | There and Back English-Style Bitter
It's an English-style bitter. No more, no less. If you like the style, this is one of the better one's I've had. If you don't like the style, then I suppose it's difficult to really appreciate this one.

In honor of this statement, kenny the kangaroo searched for (and successfully located) a six pack of killians at giant iggle.slappybrown wrote:As far as I'm concerned, Killian's Red does not even exist.
