A slightly frazzled GM walks up to the stage, supported by a few scouts who're still slightly red in their face. There must've been some heavy discussion going on at the LA Kings table.

The GM steps up to the mic:
The Los Angeles Kings would like to thank (insert-city-here) for all of their hospitality during this draft time. We are proud to select, from Winnipeg, Canada...
Jonathan Toews.

The California Golden Seals are going to go with a bit of age, but one hell of a set of hands, and a leader on and off the ice.

Les Glorieux sont fiers de sélectionner centre, Ryan Getzlaf.
The Montreal Canadiens are proud to select center, Ryan Getzlaf.

A massive playmaking center who is strong on the boards and an excellent two-way player. Getzlaf is a load to handle for a defenseman of any caliber and has a winning pedigree with a penchant for being a clutch player. One of the league's finest playmakers. A total package, franchise centericeman...

Seattle is honored to be back in professional hockey and is looking forward to a fantastic year.

We'd like to congratulate the LA Kings on being the last Stanley Cup champions of the old NHL. We would like to thank the host city, LGP Land, for their hospitality and preparation for this draft.

We would especially like to say thank you and hello to all the Totems' fans around the world watching. We are excited to see the Extra Man Advantage fan sections at the newly constructed Starbucks Arena in beautiful downtown Seattle.

With our first pick in the Dispersal Draft, the Seattle Totems select, from Moscow, Russia, Alexander Ovechkin.

Big, mean, and doesn't take **** from anyone. Power forward extraordinaire, plays the game both ways, tough, has shown that he can be a big game player...he's a finisher from anywhere on the surface, can score from 1 foot out or 40 feet out...

The LA Kings committee once again walks up to the podium, this team with one less scout. A brief check shows that the other scout is back at the table, notably flustered. This franchise is doing a horrible job of showing their discord within the ranks!

The GM clears his throat, then speaks.
The LA Kings would like to thank the other franchises for their congratulations on the past season. We look forward to the competition of this upcoming year, especially with our new in-state rivals, the Golden Seals.

With our 2nd round selection, the LA Kings select from Quebec...
