The NHL has decided to contract to X number of teams (X = legitimate interested parties, hoping for 6ish, for the O6, but let's see...after all, there was nothing original or six about the original six - maybe 8 or 10 or even 12 would be adequate). As a result, all contracts have been wiped and a dispersal draft will be held to redistribute the talent each year (that caveat is to prevent an unnecessarily high premium from being put on entry-level players). Draft to put together your best team for 2014-15, but mind your players' egos...there's only one puck, so an all-star team might not always win...

(Feel free to submit a better idea for an NPR game, I'm not married to this one, but if someone asks me where I want to eat, I'll say,"I don't know" until I starve to death...but if someone says, "you want to go [here]?" I'm into it...so this is me picking a place to eat, feel free to make suggestions...)

If this game sticks, count me in as Montreal.

Ok, I think I got 12, let's call it there. You can hire an assistant or co-GM. Or sit back and see how this one goes and depending on the speed of it, maybe there will be a 6 or 8 team "AHL Draft" with the remaining players...maybe...we're a long way from that.

I'll post some more details in a little while. I'll get the draft order posted tonight after work and we'll just get it started. If necessary, you can leave a list with me if you're not going to be around for a pick or what have you.
