Re: Super Mario Bros Warz: Bowser's Revenge GAME THREAD

Post by CBear3 »

The first day saw a slew of accusations, that finally resulted in Bowser's minions agreeing to kill one of their own. Rest would come no easier on Night 2.

As each side struggled to gain more knowledge of their enemy, Mario struck first. He reached back and lobbed a fire ball at one of Bowser's Assassins. A moment before he was vaporized into a gold coin he was saved by a benevolent villager. Dejected, Mario went back to regroup.

Meanwhile, another of Bowser's Assasins went on the offensive. This time a Koopa ParaTroopa hopped through the air and landed right on MWB. The shell smooshed him to smithereens.
Spoiler:
MWB was Luigi; Mario's Plumbing Brother
But the surprises weren't done for the night. Some goombas just won't die. Usually they come back just when you think you've won the game, but he was a bit early this time. So it was with Goomba shaftnutz, who came back as something a little different.

It is now Day 2:
Players:
Spoiler:
1. Crankshaft
2. Willie Kool
3. THG
4. dodint - Koopa; Stomped Night 1
5. MR25
6. ulf - Goomba; Struck by Hammer Night 1
7. PFiDC
8. MWB - Luigi; Jumped by a Koopa ParaTroopa
9. rel
10. Pavel
11. SDD
12. redwill
13. obhave
14. dagny
15. columbia
16. Doc
17. Canaan
18. Shafnutz – Killed as a Goomba, reanimated Day 2
19. BigMcK
With 16 players, it takes 8 votes to kill.
Deadline is 10 pm EST, or whenever majority is reached.

All of MWB's posts from the game.

This makes sense.

dagny wrote:At this point, I could only rationalize a vote for someone who hasn't posted yet. On the same note, I can't rationalize a quick vote on any of them, because I don't want us to accidentally lynch a RPer just because they haven't had a chance to check in.

Hopefully, more players will weigh in soon.
I thought you didn't like when people voted for non-participants so early? Or am I wrong about that?

Crankshaft wrote:If we're just going to eliminate someone for being a "non" player, then I would look at BigMcK. That guy signs up for everything but I don't really ever recall him actually playing.
He actually gets the longest leeway from me, being on the West coast. However, I'm also in california, but I'm here.

I must concur, in the last few games, he has signed up and not participated much.

Where are Pavel and canaan??? Pavel is, like, warz godfather, and canaan is just warz fun. :D
I guess this is where I get confused. You will give certain people leeway, including yourself, for not participating because of time differences. Completely understandable. However, everyone can have a reason to not participate. And if we wait for them to weigh in, are they no longer a non-participant?
My thinking is, if we get a couple days in and haven't heard from someone, kill them. Otherwise, it's just a shot in the dark as much as anyone else this early.
MWB wrote:So we got BigMck to come out by mentioning his name. Didn't work with canaan and pavel. What about Doc?
MWB wrote:Among those who haven't posted, shaf is the odd one. He is posting elsewhere, but not here. Others don't seem to have posted anywhere yet.
MWB wrote:What are the odds that shaf comes on and just says that he figured he'd be dead the first day so didn't bother checking?
MWB wrote:Ha, never mind. Guess I was wrong.
MWB wrote:lynch pb

I dislike when people come in, throw down a vote, and then just leave. I know rel did it earlier, but he voted for shaf so I let is slide.
MWB wrote:save pb
lynch shaf

Might as well.

How exactly do you know that, comrade?
I am speculating that you know he is blue and that you are distancing yourself from the vote on him to gain reputation points with the non-baddiesvillage.

Just a Day 1 hunch.

I, too, do not know his role. But why did you attempt to derail a Day 1 bandwagon? Possible answer: to be able to say that you did not think he was blue and that you did not vote for him.

Anyway, I've done what I am accusing you of several times when I was a baddie.
Aren't you derailing the bandwagon just as much now?
MWB wrote:I can see his point too, but he's derailing the bandwagon the same way. Throwing a vote on someone different with reasoning, albeit more logical reasoning than Columba.

From what I can tell these posts don't say much. It is only 1 day of posting after all. I would say that it looks like redwill and dagny are probably good guys.

One could read that MWB attempted to de-rail my de-railment of the shaf vote, thus implicating columbia.

Kinda pedestrian thinking, but I think it's good enough for a Day 2 vote.

Welcome back, shaf. Hope you're still a good guy.

Should we send Shaf a PM to let him know he's still in the game? :pop:

Not just because of my vendetta (well, yes it kind of is), but he is screaming "over-helpful red" to me right now.

Do you think obhave is red? She said something about the PMs we got that I didn't mention. She said that the time the game would start was in the PM. I never mentioned that. She basically corroborated what I was saying. If you think she is red too then by all means...

Lynch Pavel MWB was the only vote on him. Would a Red vote for a Red Day 1, it has happened before.

There is a chance he is an empty turtle shell headed toward a line of koopas and goombas and even mario and his ilk. Possibly independent...

There is probably a reasonable argument to be made for whacking him again, in the spirit of getting rid of questionable independents.

I'm a better Warz player than most here, even with half my brain tied behind my back...so yes, it's a good argument if you're red :pop:

No need to do anything rash, especially when he may have powers to assist the village. Let the seer investigate if there is one and proceed accordingly. I think there are more compelling options at this point.

Yeah I'm not advocating killing him again. Given the theme of the game I doubt he came back as a bad guy. Independent or blue is more likely.

I'm willing to explore thg's theory at this point especially since MWB seemed against killing quiet players.

MWB may have been onto something. Very active in posting, but he did change his vote to the popular one.

This assumes that the reds can communicate with each other.

Also, I'd think MWB would want to get rid of Pavel, ASAP, being that he's so good at the game.

However, Pavel's lack of participation is disconcerting.

That said, I'm leaning more toward this PFIDC sentiment.

Have reds ever not been allowed to communicate? If they have then it's been rare.
