I get through one on a weekday...weekend day...probably 4 plus. I'll watch two when I wake up before the girlfriend get up and then usually two before bed.

If I have a lot of binding to do at work I'll watch 4-5 episodes in a day. My wife isn't interested in the show so I don't watch it at home.

Season three thoughts:
Spoiler:
Its no question that stringer is oen of the best, most interesting characters in TV history. You can see why they teach college classes on this show based on stringer alone. This gentleman does not agree that we should be pulling for stringer to win out for a variety of reasons, mostly that he truly lacked a lot of ethics that even the most deplorable characters on the show had. It sucks that he got jobbed by clay davis but at least as a result it produced one of the funniest lines in the whole series

I did think the NYC reverend and Omar "teamup" was cheesy. Just thought it was BS, all the reverend had to do was go to Avon after he learned from Omar what Stringer told him. Just cheeseball plot line conclusion IMO. But I agree about that line, Avon's response to Stringer trying to get one of the soldiers to kill Davis was pretty funny.

I thought Marlowe was awesome. A great comparison to the Barksdale crew.

I think it is interesting that out of all the awful characters on the show, String is the most heartless and ruthless. No code. Man got to have a code.

Marlo:
Spoiler:
No doubt Marlo was ruthless, but he never turned on his own crew. String did anything he could to get himself to the top, including turning on his own people.

Falling Skies, while it had flaws in the first three seasons, it's just terrible now.

The big difference is that Marlo is borderline mentally ill. Stringer has no ethics but at least he has a head on his shoulders. Marlo is so single minded that he simply does not process consequenses for anyone but himself.

I think it's kind of tough to compare the two. Both side kill with no regards to humanity, but are in very different spots on the lifeline. The Barksdale crew spent most of it's time chasing loose ends and killing to protect itself. Marlo is establishing a rep and intimidating the **** out of everyone. His execution crew seems way more trigger happy than Barksdale and Stringer were.

In the context of the line of work, I don't think Marlo was mentally ill. He thought it best to kill anyone who would get in the way of his rise to power, but kept his allegiances to Chris and Snoop. Stringer would kill anyone who got in his way, including people he claimed to be closest to.

No doubt Marlo was an awful person. My point was that Marlo at least lived by the code of the streets, while String didn't.

You could probably argue that Stringer was trying to change the code of the streets.
