Still under deep cover, Malkinelli resists the Russian mob boss Velichkin's attempt to coerce him into fixing hockey games back in the motherland. When Malkinelli's cover is almost blown, it's clear no one is playing games.
It is the third consecutive day that desk Sergeant Grover has received a call from Sabu in Sewickley.
Since things are a little slow and to be on the safe side Lt. Dan dispatches the squad to guard the Big Guy's mansion.

Lt. Dan has a heart to heart with the young officer Neal, revealing flashbacks of the events leading to his promotion, including the downfall of his predecessor Lt. Therrien, detailing his addiction to a drug called "Mango Salsa", and the disconnect it wrought with the junior detectives inside the bullpen.
After years of trying to commission more funds to better equip his officers, Police Commissioner Lee Magnifique threatens to transfer the entire squad to Kansas City, which has a new wave of crime to fight, but no one to fight it. Will Mayor Steelerstaal and Governor Flyersrule step up in time? Pitt City sits and waits precariously on the edge of its view obstructed seat.
After being passed over for a promotion, despite a stellar arrest record, Officer Gronk quits the squad to start a tobacco farm in Carolina City with his brothers. Will his replacement, who comes from an impressive lineage of peacekeepers, be able to defend Pitt City as well as Gronk?
Real Deal had been filing a bevy of reports from the field but nary a one led to anything worthwhile. Real's dry spell, eerily reminiscent of when he first came aboard was affecting the squad's confidence in him.
Scuttle was that Candyman was getting impatient and looking to call a closed door meeting to resolve the problem.
Don't think for a second that would've eluded the commissioner's eye; it wouldn't be the first time Candyman tried to fix something that was beyond the chain of command. Things seemed dire; morale was on the decline and personnel were being terminated or transferred.
When Superstar discovered that Real had been filing reports on a well known Pitt City compensation attorney and not the Capo dei Capi of the Philthy Mob, many were relieved believing the problem solved, especially Lt. Dan.
But with a sidelong unreadable glance, the wily commissioner tells Lt. Dan that all the information in the world is worthless to his unit without someone to execute (and perhaps improvise) a plan to take advantage of it.
It came down to wire but network executive's and the cast member's wiley agent, Don Mayhem, were finally able to work out a deal to bring back this action packed drama for another season. Writer's, cast and crew have been hastily assembled to craft the first episode. We here at the Canon MacMillan Patch have been able to obtain an extended synopsis.
A hot shot getaway artist 'Lisse' (played by new cast member-YouTube exercise sensation- Kristopher Letang) has just stepped off the plane at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow after a long and grueling flight from Montreal. But before the hungry Lisse can finish the borscht he bought at 'Babushka Boris Borscht Bar And Postcard Kiosk', Malkinelli throws the cuffs on him and smuggles Lisse aboard a waiting jet which will take them back to the United States.
At first, Lisse looks to escape but Malkinelli explains to him that the former's getaway speed is needed by the squad for an unexpected but expected important assignment. Lisse's interest is piqued, but when Malkinelli tells him that if the mission is successful Lisse could become a very wealthy man, Lisse is all in. He asks Malkinelli for details but Malkinelli has not been authorized by Lt. Dan to reveal specifics (mainly because Lt. Dan doesn't have any). Nor has he been authorized to reveal his cover to the newcomer. The crafty Russian can speak Lisse's native French but sticks to pigeon English as per plan. Malkinelli can tell Lisse only that the Frenchman's unique skill's are highly coveted by the Commissioner.
Lisse knows he'll take the job but grows bored with Malkinelli's ersatz, vigorously incompetent English and decides to go talk to the pilot. Problems then arise as the plane starts making unexpected detours, landing in Minsk, Kaliningrad, Prague and Leipzig. When the plane goes from Hamburg to Istanbul, Malkinelli becomes alarmed. Lisse has not left the cockpit! Malkinelli investigates and finds Lisse in the pilot's seat flying the airplane! When Lisse tells him that staying the course is not ,"the way I roll", Malkinelli knows Lt. Dan and the squad are going to have their hands full.
Lt. Dan considers getting Flower a seeing eye dog. New squad member Iggy, who thought he was hired to crack specialty cases, wonders how long he will have to go on writing parking tickets? Meanwhile trouble could be brewing for Lt. Dan and the Commissioner as higher ups consider bringing in internal affairs to investigate them for misappropriating assets.
Unfortunate events have led to the termination of commissioner Ray Shero and Lt. Dan and all of Pitt City rejoiced in their departure. A new commissioner, Jim Rutherford (played by Ed Asner), has come out of retirement to take the reigns but just weeks into his tenure the new commish is the brunt of angry backlash almost as if it were somehow his fault the squad badly mangled their last assignment. The big question on everybody's mind is - who will be the next squad leader? And, is commissioner Jim up to the task of appointing one? Is it true that Pitt City residents know more about staffing squad vacancies than commissioner Jim?
Meanwhile, Malkinelli, who is attempting to climb Mt. Everest, has no idea that Lt. Dan is no longer his boss.
Commissioner Jim can't seem to find anyone's cell phone number, but still has to deal with dissension in the leaderless ranks. Word has already spread that Officer Jokinen is heading back to INTERPOL and an FBI recruiter has been flashing unmarked bills from the evidence room near Corporal Niskanen's desk. IAB has reinstated their investigation into Neal for boosting a truck load of hair gel, after Puck_Drama copped to an immunity deal.
