I interpreted that as Shero spending to the cap and not always understanding the implications of some the contracts.

If that's the case then I can agree with that. But the team isn't screwed just because of Burkle making a statement. The team is screwed because of the huge contracts Shero gave to players (among other things) that we may not be able to get out of, eating a huge portion of the cap in the process.

Aside from scuderi and letang ( possibly) , I don't know who these bad contracts were. His best attribute was always not spending dumb money.

Kunitz and Dupuis are old and signed for too long.

If holmgren and Sather can wriggle out of some of the messes they've put themselves in over the years, I don't anticipate mid level salaries to be unmovable, if that's the avenue JR wants to pursue.

Specifically, I don't know, but if I'm running a team signing players in their mid-30s to multiyear deals that put me up against the cap for the upcoming season and in potential salary cap hell for future seasons is never an option for me. Signing one would have been manageable, signing both was wrong, throwing in Scuderi as the geriatric cherry on top was asinine.

Bylsma hired by NHL Network as studio analyst for the rest of the finals. Hopefully its for pre-game only. Can't see him contributing much during the intermissions.

I will count the seconds until he says the Kings or Rangers need to "Get to their game".

TalkingHead: "what changes do you think need to be made between periods from what we've seen so far?"

DB: "Uhhhh...nothing. All good. They just need to get to their game."

Ha Disco's first job on NHLN is sitting in MSG next to Melrose with NYR fans waving their jerseys behind him.

And just got ditched for Linda Cohn

K Tappen: "Dan, when you have a star player like Carl Hagelin who is off to a slow start, how do you get him going?"

FHCDB: "F if I know Kathryn, I just had the best player in the world on my team and couldn't get him going, how do I know how to get Carl Hagelin going?"

Well, that's what I heard him say, anyway.

Two part question: Carl Hagelin is a star? And why does he even bother wearing a visor? He's old enough to be grandfathered into the no visor thing I have to imagine, the visor he currently wears serves no purpose...

Right? I don't get it. I mean, I don't wear a visor, so I'm not actually well-versed in facial protection...but I can't figure out what that does...

Deflects glare from the overheads like a golf visor? Protects you from blocked shots if you're down and your chin is tucked? It's different and gets people to talk about him? Dunno.
