The other possible "unions" (from the story):
redwill wrote:
- Beren-Luthien: if Beren found Luthien, both would get resurrected if they died, but with no powers, no House, no PMs, no Silmarils.

- Finrod-Barahir: if Finrod found Barahir, Finrod would get a day save and Barahir would get a night kill.

Getting a little defensive, no?

Truly? I was greatly concerned for your reading comprehension skillz... :P

It did alarm me that anyone might think that the board moderators could have any kind of access to your Private Messages. They are private.

I think columbia was referring to Dagny being able to see everyone's PM's
HUH?

I can't see everyone's PMs. Where did you get that from?
Thats the question being posed -- can you?

I don't think any moderators here would bother to jump into someones PM box. That said, anyone with access to the database itself would be able to extract them the hard way if they had the time and motivation.

There have been games where I had to tell the players not to include me in their discussions.

Hell, this game I received 75 PMs. Imagine if I had been included in MRandall's team discussions. Yikes.

I'm sure RJ can see anything he wants on here, but he's an ethical gorilla.

If I did have access to others' private messages, I'd never even consider using it, especially in a warz game. Obviously, you don't know me well enough to take my word for it, but peoples' right to privacy, as well as people respecting each others' right to it, is hugely important to me.

Oh, I take your word for it. Anyone that cares enough to play something like Warz with any kind of enthusiasm wouldn't go outside the lines to play, I assume.

Just the IT nerd part of me knows all of this is just one big database on an SQL server somewhere. There is a forum I've belong to since 1998 and we've physically moved the db a few times. :P

Were you aware of my anti-fantasy ramblings elsewhere on this board before we started this game? I know PFiDC was.

I meant it when I said I thought you made up the backstory and all the characters. It took me about a day to figure out that there was source material. :face:

I saw ECU's drama program put on a Hobbit play once. That's it.

Do I care about your fantasy/anti-fantasy feelings?

Only from the standpoint of enjoying watching me flounder. If you saw my discussion with PFiDC from two weeks or so ago, and then saw me wander into your game thread, I could see how you'd find it amusing. I would also understand if neither event were on your radar, I'm not a complete narcissist.

Anti-fantasy isn't really what I meant to say. It's not like I burn Tolkien books to keep warm in the winter. I'm just almost completely ignorant of it.

I've always said, the quality of a game can be measured by the amount of post-game banter that goes on afterwards. Beautifully crafted Redwill.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but thank you very much.

All those angels + MRandall's one-time save made the casualty rate remarkably low. The village did a good job getting canaan, mac, and ulf pretty quickly.

Would have been a drastically different game if the baddies had captured a key player or two.

While I'm at it talking about angels, is there an opinion about should an angel protection protect against investigations as well as death?

I have gone back and forth on that point. In this game it did not protect against investigations.

That might be a bit much. The typical angel role is pretty powerful as-is.
