same thing happened after their first cup and they still managed

Didnt they circumvent the cap with the Hossa / Keith signings? I just cant see them doing similar things this time around.

No, their big problem was not getting contract offers to RFA's like Versteeg before the deadline to the NHL office. After that Dave Tallon got canned and Stan Bowman took over.
