Blame Martin. Source material for her and pretty much everything else that's boring, except for Jon Snow where I really think it is the actor, is just as insuferable in the books. Amazingly though the areas of good writing have been made even better by Peter Dinklage being awesome.

Imo the actor for Jon Snow is doing a good job this season. By far his best work so far.

I'm about 200 pages in Feast For Crows and I don't think it's too bad. It's definitely not the best book, but it's not horrible either so far.

Getting the last two books as ebooks fromt he library to read again this summer. I know they aren't great, but I want to refresh my memory and hopefully by the time I'm done a new book will be ready.

Really should have just downloaded Ball of Beasts. It's a lot more enjoyable than reading them separate... Especially since you've already read the originals.

Where can I find that? I haven't downloaded the others yet.

Thanks.

Non-readers probably shouldn't go there just to be safe from potential spoilers.

It's such a better read combining the two books. As long as you own the print or official ebook version of them I see no harm and reading them as one long novel.

That almost made me ill, to be honest.

It was a tad much, and gore really doesn't usually bother me.

The intestines dropping out last episode was kosher but an eye gouge is too much? Lol

Not just the eye gouging - the Sidney Crosby mouth, the just plain awful scream he let out, and then the head. Then the repeated showing of the head. *shudder*

Having hunted as a younger kid, intestines don't bother me. Anything involving the head is hard to watch, though.

Yeah, but those are the intestines of stock background characters with no history at all!

He was probably referring to the skull crush, but yeah. Probably should have seen that coming. If any character was prone to getting cocky, it would have been him. :pop:

It was pretty disturbing. I think the dialogue added greatly to that.

A neck breaking could have worked there, at least that's what I thought when reading the book.

It was worse than I imagined. Wow.

I'm going to miss this in two weeks.

Started Ball of Beasts today to occupy a large part of my poolside time this summer.

I have no idea where that story is going... but as long as it means spending more "quality time" with her, I approve.
