I don't think Mrandall can be killed at night. It is an ability one of the members of my house has. Lynch/daytime kill is the only way that I can see it happening.

In all honesty, the only strike against him is jumping on the canaan vote late, like a red looking for cover.
But of the choices he's the only one with even a partial strike at this point. I don't know why the mac vote gathered steam.
