Was there ever a reason given for why Shero decided not to extend a qualifying offer to Muzzin?

Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
And this is what you sometimes get with Crawford. Things can spiral out of control for him. You look at him there, and he's just outwardly cheating. His feet aren't set and it's read well by Muzzin. Who didn't appear to have much intention to shoot, but he saw Crawford wasn't respecting that shot, so he wired up under the bar. Not a confident goaltender, drops down, doesn't read the shot off the stick, just stop, drop and hope where ever his skates were aligned at the time...and he wasn't rewarded for it...
Great shot by Muzzin...really good. But you'd like to think he has that one...all he has to do is just square up, stay up and knock it away...

Muezzin had a shoulder injury, and wasn't looking promising when Shero chose to not sign him.

My fear is LA-Chicago will go to 7, and the winner go into the finals exhausted.
I don't want the Rangers to cakewalk to a Cup.

For real? I know he had injury concerns when the Pens drafted him, but his final year of juniors he played in 64 of 68 games, led his team in scoring at better than a point per game while playing a physical brand of defense and played in all 5 of SSM's playoff games. Seems pretty promising and uninjured to me.MRandall25 wrote:Muezzin had a shoulder injury, and wasn't looking promising when Shero chose to not sign him.

Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
I thought he had some sort of shoulder or knee injury that caused himto be passed on.
At any rate, why does it matter?
EDIT: He had herniated disc surgery at age 16 and was not signed (2007). Signed a deal with LA in 2010.

Both of these teams are so much better than NYR.
So fun to watch. I want this again.

It doesn't matter, I was just wondering. I was excited about him when the Pens drafted him and I'm glad he's found success.MRandall25 wrote:I thought he had some sort of shoulder or knee injury that caused himto be passed on.

Have not seen it also. The guy is good. Some of his descriptions just come out of the blue which makes them even more enjoyable.shafnutz05 wrote:I'm assuming you have all seen this, but thought I would repost it in light of the Doc E discussion

Last night is a perfect example that you don't need great goaltending, but you do need timely goaltending in the post-season.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 9m
Halak's new deal with NYI is four years, $18M for an AAV of $4.5M.

Now how the hell does the ref miss a late, blindside hit to the head 15 feet in front of him? Prust is such a scumbag.
