The only problem I had with it is that the dial wasn't very accurate. In addition to the probe thermometer in the meat, I stuck a second dial thermometer down through the vent on the lid so that it was measuring the inside temperature. It consistently showed about 75 degrees higher than the dial setting. That's an easy problem to correct, however. To make it even easier, I might drill a small hole in the lid and install a grill thermometer.

Edit (after looking at Amazon): Or this might be a good excuse to buy a dual-probe wireless remote grill/smoker thermometer…

ThermoWorks TW8060, two-channel thermocouple.

I have the THS-113-173 oven cooking probe and the THS-113-177 smokehouse BBQ probe for monitoring cooking temps, and the THS-113-181 needle probe for monitoring internal meat temps.

God I love Delallos. They have the best hot sausage and lunchmeat....
