Not that it's a great beer by any means. But I can day drink and pound a ton of summer shandys outside on a nice day.

I like em, but my mouth hates all the acidity the next day. Pretty much burned the tastebuds off the tip of my tongue.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Attended the Sour and the Funky yesterday. A few highlights:
Finally got to try a trio of Bruery beers that I had previously eschewed due to the price tag ($29.95 at Ho1kB)--Saison de Lente, Sour in the Rye, and Oude Tart. All were great.
The three Goose Island beers they offered were some of the best of the day. Halia, Lolita, and Juliet. Julient, in particular, had an awesome red raspberry flavor.
The stout and porter--not what you'd typically expect at a sour tasting--were both really pleasant surprises. 3 Fonteinen zwet.be is a porter made with lambic yeast. Really cool. Mikkeller/Anchorage Beer Geek BreAKfast is a coffee oatmeal stout aged in oak with brett. The slight sourness in both elevates the drinkability significantly.
Hop Farm had their berliner weisse on draft, called Margot. It was pretty straightforward but highly drinkable. Definitely would be a cool alternative for a warm day beer. From what I picked up hearing some of the conversation, they are going to be bottling and waxing in the coming weeks.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I echo most of Kraftster's highlights from the Sour and the Funky yesterday, although I didn't like the Hop Farm berliner weisse as much. I just think, though, that I don't really like the style--haven't found one I like yet. I had a couple beers from the new local brewer Stellmacher too. They were solid, but not quite as good as some of the really high-end stuff on offer. Regardless, it's cool to have someone in the area making sours.
I would also say that the House of 1000 Beers did a very good job with the event--lots of rare, good-to-great beers, and wasn't as crowded as I feared it would be.

Found a gluten free beer that doesn't take like dog **** which is positive: omission IPA. Nowhere near a regular IPA but doesn't taste like normal GF swill

Yuengling Summer Wheat is quite ordinary, but very drinkable on a hot night; especially if you've been at work all day.

A very nice choice. In that, while you lay the protein of choice on the grill and need to grab a cold, adult beverage to socialize, that is a great beverage to enjoy with the party.tifosi77 wrote:Firestone Walker 805 ale. Deeeelishus.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Southern Tier 2XONE was all that I had hoped for from a east coast IPA. After the initial pour, the head remained nice and clean, like it had been straight from draught, with layers of white lace. As listed, 1 style of malt and 1 style of hop was used to brew the beer, and the blend is perfect. Not a hop bomb yet still had good overall bite. It isn't listed if they allow bottle fermentation, but there were yeast sediments at the bottom of the glass. Very nice beer. Would be a regular purchase if available here.

Anyone ever have Deshutes Hop Henge IPA? Just saw GE started carrying Deschutes. Black Butte porter was there as well.

Spent 12 weeks in Portland and Mirror Pond seemed like the staple ale in the area. Hop Henge must be new.

Galactica "tap takeover" (three whole beers on draft) at Mad Mex last night. Stopped in to try the Space Cake Double IPA. I liked it quite a bit. Nice malt balance, tasty Mosaic hops.

The New Belgium helles is not worth the price of admission.
In fact, it's kind of terrible.

Found some Paulaner Hefeweizen. Pretty good. Relatively cheap for the quality.
