Oliver North co-wrote the latest episode of The Americans, which had to do with training Contras.

I think I'm still a couple eps behind, either two or three (I think I saw all of the Huntress ep but not certain). Thankfully within the most recent 5 that hulu has.Beveridge wrote:Holy crap, Arrow.

Guilty pleasure of mine but no way is it the best show in the world or even on Bravo. That just might be the atrocious Vanderpump Rules hot mess.Letang Is The Truth wrote:flipping out with jeff lewis on bravo is probably the best show in the world

Re: TV Shows
Agent Keen on The Blacklist is either horribly write or horribly acted or both. That show is starting to wear on my nerves.
Spader is still awesome, but this last episode annoyed me way more than entertained me.
While pursuing Tom, she jumps out of the car and follows him into the National Archives, blowing the surveillance, even though Readington has like a dozen people following Tom. And she's supposed to be in an elite FBI group?!?!
They she acts like a scared housewife for the first 45 minutes of the show and then she's gonna get tough to interrogate him? And then doesn't comprehend he was "doing his job?" And then, of course, gets thrown around the house after not being able to contain him.
So annoying.

Explain to me how breaking a thumb allows handcuffs to come off?

i imagine that if the safe word was said after the thumb breakage, the dominatrix would oblige and remove the cuffs.

Watched the 2nd and 3rd episodes of Surviving Jack last night. Very solid, good mix of funny. Christopher Meloni seems perfect for the lead role.

The Australia episode of Modern Family was probably the first episode of that show I did not enjoy.

Watched all three episodes of TURN. I'm still waiting for it to really kick into gear.

Re: TV Shows
I'm hoping Turn spans over 6 seasons or so. I'm okay with a slow build.
My biggest annoyance with Turn is the really bad CGI/visual effects. Particularly when they were rowing the ferry over to Manhatten. Cringeworthy.

Re: TV Shows
So, I've been watching Winds of War. I'm not sure I can stand by my earlier recommendation. It's hokey, poorly acted (despite the good cast), and historically inaccurate.
I can recommend the book, and its sequel, War and Remembrance. That miniseries, aired in 1988/89, is billed as the last great network miniseries - and seemed to be a bit better, IIRC. They recast a lot of the leading roles, including Jan Michael Vincent (who was busy with Airwolf and notoriously difficult [drunk] on the set of the first series).

Agreed, the CGI is really poor.dodint wrote:I'm hoping Turn spans over 6 seasons or so. I'm okay with a slow build.
