You mean MAC-Donald as Pierre says in the most annoying manner possible.

Lots of years and lots of coin for a guy whose career high in points is 28 and isn't really that good of a defensive d-man. Minus 22 this year....Crazy.

19 games as a flyer, 4 points, -3. Here have $5M a year. Could have gotten Orpik this offseason for around that.

It will be interesting to see what kind of deal Orpik gets.

Not disputing the fact that Pierre is annoying, but it is spelled MacDonald.

Mc, Mac, Micky -- who cares. He will definitely add to the Flyers MICkey Mouse defense.

Will Ghost play in the playoffs this year, Kreider-esque?

From what I can tell, no. Looks like he finishes the year (this weekend) in the AHL, then will travel with the Flyers and play/practice with the "Black aces" or whatever. I assume thats the group of potential emergency callups in case of injury or something?

Yes, every team has a Black Aces (taxi) squad once their AHL affiliate season ends.

That's what I was thinking too. Great comp for Niskanen's agent to throw out there after the season...

Yet another bad contract by the Flyers. Way to skew the marketplace...

Holmgren should have been in Union's room Saturday night with a contract ready.

He was there. I saw him at the game, as luck would have it. In fact, he was wearing a #14 (Ghost's number) jersey.

At this point it isn't even funny anymore. Intentionally or not, they are driving up the prices of players league wide with these types of signings. I'm not sure if it's intentional malevolence, but it hurts more than just them in the long run.

I can't believe he will be making that much money.

Depending on what we do with Scuderi and Orpik, I wouldn't say goodbye to Niskanen just yet.

He signed an ATO to play with the Phantoms and his ELC doesn't begin until this fall. They still could have signed him now and burned a year of his contract to have him play 5 NHL games before their season is done.

MacDonald is OK, what a horrible deal though. Makes Letang's contract look reasonable and Martin a **** steal.

Nisky is going to get payed big time.
