Actually, there are rumblings Nashville wants to "change direction", and that would start with firing Barry Trotz.

I'd like to see what he could do with a team like the Pens.

Anyone know who's likely to take the GM role in Vancouver? But I tend to agree, with how hands-on the Vancouver ownership is, they'd have had to believe Torts was their guy when they hired him and he won't be automatically axed as having been "Gillis' guy".

Linden I believe is going to be Team President, but not sure if that means he will also be the GM.

All the media around the nucks since the second half of the season has been hinting on a major overhaul.

That being said, I don't think Torts comes back.

He has destroyed exactly 0 teams. He took the Bolts to a cup win and got way more than anyone should have been able to get out of the Rangers. The Canucks are a mess and none of their problems are coaching issues. People confuse whether they like someone's personality with what they have actually done.

I'd rather have him than Bylsma, but I don't think he's the coach for the Pens.

I'd rather have a sack of potatoes than Bylsma, so Torts would fit that criteria.

That said, I don't want him as our coach. He's high risk, high reward. If he comes in and does it right, he could be an awesome fit. But it's probably just as likely he comes in and makes Crosby want to leave Pittsburgh. Not really into a coin flip where you have a 50% shot of complete disaster.

No interest in Torts from me, but I also am not a big fan of replacing Bylsma internally. Granato has been here and is part of the coaching group that is being tuned out. Martin would be the exception, given that he's a newbie to the staff. Trotz, in my opinion, would be a home run and the logical/likely choice if he gets fired in Nashville, given the Shero connection. Laviolette and King would be on my list as well, but I feel King is a longshot, given that his name comes up basically every time the Penguins have an opening and yet he never is among the actual candidates.
