Nope...which is why I put it in this in the NPR section. Plus I haven't read that thread...yet.

I'd like to see what he could do with a team like the Pens.
Trotz would be interesting.

My guess is that Torts will stick around for a year and get fired next season, if he can't make any progress.

Anyone know who's likely to take the GM role in Vancouver? But I tend to agree, with how hands-on the Vancouver ownership is, they'd have had to believe Torts was their guy when they hired him and he won't be automatically axed as having been "Gillis' guy".

Linden I believe is going to be Team President, but not sure if that means he will also be the GM.

All the media around the nucks since the second half of the season has been hinting on a major overhaul.

That being said, I don't think Torts comes back.

I wonder how the GM change in Van will affect our deal for Ryan Kesler.

I wouldn't count on Kessler coming here. Other teams will make much better offers.

You hear Bob Nicholson and Trevor Linden being involved here. I wonder if they go with a rookie GM with all this kerfuffle...I could see it happening if it's someone beloved by fans, like Trevor Linden was...but I'm not sure what they'll do right now...

I said midseason that this has the potential to get Calgary bad...here we go...

He helped the rangers over achieve. Nothing wrong with his tenure there.

He has destroyed exactly 0 teams. He took the Bolts to a cup win and got way more than anyone should have been able to get out of the Rangers. The Canucks are a mess and none of their problems are coaching issues. People confuse whether they like someone's personality with what they have actually done.

Irrelevant. He has a no trade clause. He ultimately decides.

I'd rather have a sack of potatoes than Bylsma, so Torts would fit that criteria.

That said, I don't want him as our coach. He's high risk, high reward. If he comes in and does it right, he could be an awesome fit. But it's probably just as likely he comes in and makes Crosby want to leave Pittsburgh. Not really into a coin flip where you have a 50% shot of complete disaster.

Absolutely not.

The only guys I would consider replacing Byslma with are Granato, Dave King or Laviolette. I'd even promotoe Jaques Martin before bringing in this clown.

No interest in Torts from me, but I also am not a big fan of replacing Bylsma internally. Granato has been here and is part of the coaching group that is being tuned out. Martin would be the exception, given that he's a newbie to the staff. Trotz, in my opinion, would be a home run and the logical/likely choice if he gets fired in Nashville, given the Shero connection. Laviolette and King would be on my list as well, but I feel King is a longshot, given that his name comes up basically every time the Penguins have an opening and yet he never is among the actual candidates.

If you people think this team likes to pack it in in the third, you'll be going crazy when Jacques Martin starts packing it in with a 1-0 lead in the first.

the only difference would be that under Martin, the team would actually be able to hold a 1 goal lead in the third.
