it's much better (imo) than last year's spring double IPA... Alchemy hour was what it was called I believe.

I have to agree. I put it off for some other things to try and when I finally got around to it, I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. I'm not exactly sure what the big difference is, but I think they toned down the mosaic hops this year.count2infinity wrote:it's much better (imo) than last year's spring double IPA... Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
huh... i just read that apparently this IS alchemy hour, they had to change the name though due to some sort of copyright infringement. It's interesting how a beer can change from year to year. I know this year's Great Lakes Christmas Ale wasn't very good when compared to previous years.

I remember saying last year that I thought Alchemy Hour wasn't that far behind Heady Topper. I really liked last years version.

I guess ones palate can change over a year as well. I've been throwing back these Cigar City Jai Alai IPAs and they are delicious. FYI 3 rivers 6 pack in Delmont has continued to have cigar city products in stock pretty regularly.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
When I was in Columbus, a bunch of the folk were saying great things about this. As a parting gift from the city, I grabbed a nice goblet from a bar with the frog etched on it. I'm now seeing that same beer (Boris) at Giant Eagles and am very tempted to make a pickup. Please let us know how you like it.shafnutz05 wrote:Wife picked me up this at Wegman's yesterday....haven't had it yet

It was funny, in a matter of 30 minutes my brother, myself and neighbor buying for their son in Arizona cleaned the place out.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
what is even happening here?
in south jersey/philly, you can't find a single bottle of it anywhere. but in pittsburgh you can just pick them up at will? what's up with that?
and i paid $7.50 a bottle and $9 a bottle, so **** you on that, too.

You would think, since I can't imagine it costs that much more money to produce some of these beers.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:these brewerys have to be making a killing on these $116 cases of beer, right?
Although that being said, for anything that is barrel-aged, I can understand it.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
How about the bottle shops that are buying the cases, breaking them up, and selling the singles for $9?
