Took fleury almost a decade after bein drafted. Goalies develop differently.

Him being a Russian does not help. Russians are notorious for having very poor catching gloves and strong blockers. Bryz, Varlamov, Bob, and Khabibulin all have below average gloves and above average blockers. Nabokov is the only current Russian NHLer that doesn't conform to this and he is not technically Russian (Kazak), but he is Russian trained.
