Marian Gaborik may be on his way out of Columbus. Doesn't seem to fit in with the game they want to play. Even prior to his injuries, there was discussion of this being a possibility.

If there are no issues with the cap, a buy low high reward guy like Gaborik would be a savvy acquisition for Shero. His speed would be pretty incredible with Sid. And then if he gets injured, we've still got Gibbons...

Actually, it was immediately after the trade. He reported that Buffalo was looking to flip Halak to MIN for picks, and Stewart to OTT for prospects.
