It was nice to read that he apparently made up with Bill Murray recently. Not that I knew they were estranged.

I didn't know that either.PghSkins wrote:It was nice to read that he apparently made up with Bill Murray recently. Not that I knew they were estranged.
It's sad though that all of those guys I grew up watching are starting to hit their late 60s early 70s and won't be around too much longer.

If he was 69 now, he would have been younger than me when he made the twinkie scene.pittsoccer33 wrote:

Considering my screen name (I know it's not spelled the same) I'm really bummed out about Ramis. He was always my favorite Ghostbuster.

Ghostbusters has been my favorite movie since I first saw it when I was a kid. I wore out the VHS tape so much that we had to continually rent and re-copy it. I loved The Real Ghostbusters and had nearly every toy that was released. What a sad day.

Re: RIP Thread
I don't think it was so much that they were estranged as much as it was BFM becoming a little full of himself and no longer wishing to consort with lesser beings. It was very much one-sided, with Ramis describing the situation as 'heartbreaking' to him. Goes back to "Groundhog Day" or something.PghSkins wrote:It was nice to read that he apparently made up with Bill Murray recently. Not that I knew they were estranged.

I remember Ramis from earlier times On the SCTV show. Besides Ramis it had John Candy, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty (Pittsburgher), Catherine O'Hara, Andrea Martin. The show also featured those hosers the MacKenzie brothers.

Re: RIP Thread
The movies that Harold Ramis starred in, produced, wrote, or directed are pretty much a "best of" list of comedies for the last 40 years. The man was a rare talent and will be sorely missed.

Re: RIP Thread
Also not to double post but one of my favorite exchanges between two characters in a movie, its from Stripes.
John Winger(Murray): C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like going into Wisconsin.
Russell Ziskey(Ramis): Well I got the **** kicked out of me in Wisconsin once. Forget it!

Recruiter: Now, are either of you homosexuals?
John Winger: You mean, like, flaming, or...
Recruiter: Well, it's a standard question we have to ask.
Russell Ziskey: No, we're not homosexual, but we are *willing to learn*.
