Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
It bothers me, just because Kunitz had some great chances in the US game, but its not like he was the only one not finishing, but he was literally taking all of the heat from everyone online. Completely unjustified.Shakes wrote:"It's not worth winning if you don't WIN BIG!"npv708 wrote:Wow, reading tweets about Kunitz on twitter makes me sad for Canada.
I find it entertaining to read. Kunitz has been fine generally. He and Bergeron ( and Sid to a lesser extent) just haven't buried some good chances. Otherwise, that line has been pretty dominant.

Yeah, and he's an easy target being one of the last guys picked over guys with more skill.npv708 wrote:Shakes wrote:npv708 wrote:

I'm happy for him. You could tell by his and Sid's reactions that it meant a lot to him to score.

Congrats to Sid , Kuni and 'Merica's hat.
I kid, I love Canada but I'm sick of their dominance in hockey.
LET'S GO PENS !

Really. They are playing so passively. I can't believe they hired such a complete idiot to coach that team.columbia wrote:They need to fire their coach.MWW wrote:Sweden has given up...

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
In German TV the announcers remarked, that Sweden used a wrong strategy from the beginning. In all their previous games they played their game, vs. Canada they started line matching and never found their success. They let Canada dictate the game speed.Tico Rick wrote:Really. Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
Happy for Sid and Kunitz, great for Maata and Jussi, disappointing for Bylsma, Orpik and Martin (especially Martin, getting injured in the process), but all in all this Olympics played out just about how it was expected to play out except for a disappointing 4th place finish for the USA. It was fun to watch the games, but I'm ready to see the Pens wrap up the metro division and get ready for the playoffs.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
So happy for Kunitz. 2 cups, an olympic gold. Not bad for an undrafted dude.
EDIT: I secretly wanted Sweden to score late so Sid would have another gmwg.
