Cigar city doesn't distribute to western PA. Those are grey market beers, most likely muled from Philly.

I'm surprised that none of you elitists have reviewed Miller Fortune.
It sounds like a pretty special experience.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Went there today. A hipster vibe to it, but lots of good beers...plus, you can drink while you shop. Not a bad deal. Decent prices as well.Shyster wrote:I have a recommendation for a store: Vintage Estate Wine and Beer. It’s a bottle shop and taproom in Boardman, Ohio. I have relatives in Youngstown and I make sure to stop at V.E. whenever I’m in town to visit. It’s an easy drive; it’s right off 680, which itself is the first exit off the Ohio Turnpike. V.E. has a huge beer selection, and it includes dozens of brews that I’ve never seen in Pennsylvania (one example: Hitachino Nest beer from Japan). If you are anywhere near Youngstown/Boardman, or you want to take a weekend driving excursion, I recommend you check this place out.
Got:
Founders Porter
Julius Echter Hefe
SchuppenBoer Jack of Spades tripel
Plead the 5th Imperial Stout
Ayinger Brauweisse
Scneiderweisse original

They finally updated the list for the beer fest again. They claim that it's 80% complete, but there are a lot of tbds in there.
Also, anyone have any idea what the -Q and (GF) next to some of the names means?

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
For those who attended the summer beerfest, are the beers marked as VIP only available during the hour before the regular session begins, or is that beer still available afterwards (assuming it has not run out)?
Also, what's the deal with the "Quickee Station"?

I liked it but I'm a stout man (both litterally and beerily). The coffee flavor is strong but not prominent.eddysnake wrote:3 philosophers and hopslam for the evening

Unibroue's Terrible is very good. Tastes like coffee with a warm aftertaste. Kind of like cinnamon. Clove, maybe?

Unlike most Unibroue beers, that indeed sounds terrible.llipgh2 wrote:Unibroue's Terrible is very good. Tastes like coffee with a warm aftertaste. Kind of like cinnamon. Clove, maybe?
