Yeah, Bylsma coached teams NEVER take stupid penalties and lose their composure.MRandall25 wrote:And now they keep taking stupid penalties. Yeah, let's blame the coach for that.

Another anomalous performance from a Bylsma led team as he continues to acquire the stench of a loser.pcm wrote:This was the best, most talented, most experienced US team that's ever been to the Olympics. To not even medal is a major disappointment.

Get off the ice. If you don't want to play, get off.

Blah. This sucks.
I guess I'll just have to root hardcore for the Swedes tomorrow. Don't want Canada winning gold again. Hosers.

This is just unfair for Quick. At least pretend like you're putting some effort into the game.

This is all Paul Martin's fault. If he didn't get hurt they win Gold.

Amen. But that doesn't fit the agenda of a large majority of people on here.

Everyone deserves blame. Everyone. Anyone trying to say that someone is blameless in this has a big time agenda. This is a massacre.

Did you pull this quote out of the Pens playoff threads? Oh this is about an entirely different team? I think losing Martin was HUGE--the turning point of the tournament. It's like the hockey gods were saying, "You're too close to the prize, so take this!" Cruel, cruel, cruel.pittsports87 wrote:This is all Paul Martin's fault. If he didn't get hurt they win Gold.

I don't think many other USA fans realize how solid and important he is.

Yesterday was a big letdown for the players and the bronze medal isn't really a big deal to a team that had aspirations of gold. It's not a warm and fuzzy situation, but I don't see this as some big deal.

The 1998 Nagano team, their lame play, and their hotel-trashing jackassery tops it, imo.farnham16 wrote:This is the most embarrassing performance by a Team USA team in my lifetime.

I agree, and I have a big problem with that mentality, because imo, it's not one a professional should have.shmenguin wrote:Yesterday was a big letdown for the players and the bronze medal isn't really a big deal to a team that had aspirations of gold. Nope, I've thought this all along about the coach bashing. I don't think there's any argument that this USA team has better total talent than the Penguins playoff teams since 2010. My opinion, the better the talent, the less you need to coach them.

Give this team an extra day in between games and the result is going to look different. They got absolutely broken by Canada. I don't blame them for not believing in themselves today.

With this meltdown added to DB's resume, you think we keep him around if the penguins don't get to at least the Stanley Cup Finals???? I say probably not

I had a feeling Finland would win but this was embarrassing. Not just for USA hockey and the country as a whole but each player and coach should feel an immense amount of personal shame for playing so poorly.
