Yeah like it had nothing to do with 0 net front presence. Virtually no rebounds recovered by US. Price was not tested in this game at all.

There is no way I'm getting up at 7:00 to watch a consolation game for a bronze medal.

Pfft. Bronze is soff.

Kane and Pavelski needed to be better. Pavelski looked completely lost out there.

I'm at work and missed the whole thing. It sounds like Orpik validated the ire at his selection, Price was a brick wall, the Laviolette time out didn't work, and the USA team overall picked this game to suck? AND we lost Martin. Does any think that might have made a difference? I guess not, if no one--not even Kessel vanRiemsdyk--could score.

After yesterday's women's game, this...ugh. Forget it.
I thought Orpik had a solid game honestly
Good. Thanks, Trip. I was rooting hard for him.

Quick was the better goalie today. But the outcome doesn't show it. He played his heart out.

Martin would ahve helped a lot in puck movement. His loss to USA hurt them more than him being out a month for the Pens.

Russia could have won the gold. :pop:
I would have been happy for Malkin. Crosby? He's had his glory. Not like anyone can say he was the major factor in this win.
I thought he had a hell of a game today.

I'll be grocery shopping by then. I need beer. Beer > bronze.

That's crazy talk!! You can't be absolving Bylsma and getting away with it on this board!! :pop:

Canada played the perfect lockdown game. Our power play was horrendous. If Kane holds the puck any longer and we pass it around the perimeter a few more times with no one even THINKING of shooting, then I was gonna break one of the 75 TVs in my field of view at the moment (no, I don't work in the electronics section of Wal-Mart). Gotta credit Canada's defense and unfortunate that the Benn goal is what wins it.

Oh well, I'll be rooting for Canada on Sunday. Gotta collect my bet.

Maybe because Canada wouldn't let them execute.
Yeah, that's true. But again, that's not on Bylsma.

Haven't they only given up 3 goals in 5 games so far?

And why the hell not? We get in everyone's faces and rub snow in them during the round robin, and then decide that this D is the one to lay back on?

I felt so good about this game. I really did.

Orpik wasn't bad, he should've tied up Benn on the goal but I didn't have a problem with the way he played. They just didn't play the team game I thought they would today. Canada looked more motivated.

That's the thought, but he still has to be evaluated by team doctors.

Bylsma did nothing to get the Kessel line away from Toews. Unreal.

Yeah he played very well. Scared the hell out of me a couple times. But he didn't score. No one in Canada is going to praise a superstar that can't score. I could just imagine them yelling about Kunitz all game. Saying he doesn't deserve to be there. Did you see that open net he missed? I bet they say it! I guess to me, the Canadian media doesn't deserve to win. Maybe the players do but blah....

I can't wait for the Pens to come back. I kept trying to get into these games but its been pretty boring honestly. Most of the games are either a blowout or a complete bore fest. This game started good but then slowed way down.

I welcome back NHL hockey over this. A pathetic showing by USA offense today, should of known this was coming.

I'm hearing some guys here say the same thing about how his absence was plainly noticeable. What crap luck. I know stuff happens, but it's just too perfect. I actually would've preferred it happen before the GMG if it had to happen at all.

If Sid wins gold, I'd suggest the Pens keep quiet about it when they get back. No need to have a house full of boos rain down on Sid and Kunitz.
