Probably because this is the first all-NHL game.shmenguin wrote:This is the most enjoyable hockey I've seen in the tourney. Largely because the dmen are taking a nap so far.

Both teams are getting chances but Canada seems to be controlling the game so far.

wrapping the puck around the boards on a PP in hockey
short corner kicks in soccer
2 things that world class athletes always do, and they never freaking work

Especially on the PP. That was terrible. They're gonna need to win the special teams battle to come out on top.SolidSnake wrote:USA will have to pick it up, can't play like that all game.

I'd like to have a forensic investigation into that Erik Karlsson goal

Canada looks like a completely different team today, they seem more comfortable playing against an opponent who isn't going into a defensive shell. USA needs to limit their chances or it's going to turn out badly.

Team America has taken the best Canada can offer, and they've not allowed a goal. I like this so far.

Game over
Edit: Kidding, of course. You won't believe this, but Orpik let Benn walk right around him and deflect that in. Great job Orpik.

USA looking rough so far. Sloppy defense, not much time in the offensive zone.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
We have sent nothing hard at Price so far. Canada giving the boarda away and US can't get anything in the middle in fornt of the net going. Won't score any goals unless they change that.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
In the games I've watched, Kane gives me the impression of a guy who wants to do it all one moment and then do nothing the next. Couldn't figure out what he was doing on the power play holding it for so long. However, he is a dynamic playmaker. Just can be frustrating to watch.shmenguin wrote:doesn't look like kane and parise are particularly interested in playing today

I never knew into this tournament how dangerous Drew Doughty is with the puck.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
You know at the same time for hockey being "Canada's game" they sure as hell don't dominate that much, that would be like if there was a World Cup of Football, or it in the Summer Olympics with the USA winning every game in the last seconds on a field goal. Canada doesn't impress much.

Canada smells blood. They're getting better each shift.
