That article isn't serious, he's just being a troll. That's where Puck Daddy is right now.

This isn't really directed at you Cerv but I've had enough of this argument/point. I've seen it a few times on twitter already this morning, people acting like we have no right being upset Martin is out because he was criticized (rightfully) in the past. The guy has been given enormous credit for turning his play around
No, apparently he never played poorly. People disliked him, they didn't just criticize him.
and that time martin admitted to playing poorly never happened. and that time bylsma said he played poorly never happened either.

in related news, scuderi wasn't total garbage in 2006-2007 either. we all just wanted to hate him and then arbitrarily thought he improved later in his career.

Mooney's stuff is pretty terrible to begin with. If I see he's the author, I won't even read it.

No, its stupid to get all worked up when someone is having a slump. Every year all of the team's defensive problems are attributed to a single player. Every mistake they make it amplified. This year its Letang. The guy who should've won the trophy for best defeseman in the league last year.

Not to fan the flames if this argument again but Paul Martin was prob played better defense last year than all three of those nominees. The award is frlor offense and it has been for a while.

Nobody other than the Trib writers (from what I can see) have picked up on Martin being out with more than just an illness.

That's not good news for Pens fans “@JSB_FOX: Looks like Paul Martin will not play today for USA. He was sporting a cast after practice.”

Engelland back to D or does Bylsma actually play both Bortuzzo and Despres?

Me thinks Despres takes Martin's spot in the lineup, keeping Bortuzzo and Scuderi together. You want your slowest, least mobile tandem to be your bottom pairing.

Now, no chance Despres gets traded. Which is great.

To quote Josh Yohe...
To follow up on @RobRossi_Trib and @Dejan_Kovacevic reports, just spoke with member of Pens organization who confirmed Martin's hand injury.
Assuming this means it's real.

On the bright side, Despres will get enough NHL playing time to be ready for the playoffs.
That's a good thing.

Of course Engelland back to D. Will probably be playing 25 minutes a night. Disco has been longing for him.

Deep in the pit of my stomach, I fear this is going to be a 5-1 or 4-0 win for the Canadians.

Really curious to see how Crosby responds to playing against Blysma.
