Yeah... I keep thinking "the let down is coming soon... he'll slip up. He has to, he's only 19." But it just never happens. It truly has been amazing. If he had some more points, he could be a rookie of the year candidate, but he just doesn't have the stats for it.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
I'd really like to see Russia at least medal in these games, but watching them actually upsets me. They have to be one of the most frustrating teams I've ever watched. They are so talented, but boy are they stupid and selfish. At one point Malkin stole the puck, ran up ice, passed it to Ovechkin, who refused to pass it back to Geno who had a lane to the net, instead decided to circle back, leave the zone, and then not pay attention as one of his teammates was offsides. Absolutely no sign of hockey sense on that play.
Also, can anyone tell me why Radulov/Kovy line is playing 6+ minutes per game than Ovie/Malkin. Not to mention that pp unit (although it worked today) was 2 for 16 and they refused to change anything.

Russian crowd still not as bad as Montreal and their ability to whine about calls or lack thereof on the ice.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
I continue to be impressed with Radulov. I know he has a history etc, but my comments are just based on this tourney - the dude is working, has skill, is going to the net, playing a little dirty (although a couple of bad penalties). I'm assuming he's back checking and playing defense too. He is playing with heart, and he has a very punchable face. Everything you'd want in a hockey player.

Well my hope of a Russia/Canada bronze medal game isn't looking too good right now...Although I'm happy for Finland so far in this one.

Feel bad for Geno and I am neutral on OV, but if Russia comes back it will be because of #13...

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
I remember a discussion back when the rosters were released about how the Russians wanted to display that the KHL was equal to the NHL. That desire seems to have affected their in-game management as well.npv708 wrote:Also, can anyone tell me why Radulov/Kovy line is playing 6+ minutes per game than Ovie/Malkin.
