They sealed their doom the moment they passed over Giroux the second time.
Despite your sarcasm, he probably should have made the team.
Maybe. Sure. I'm not saying he shouldn't have made the team; I actually don't know. It doesn't matter if we fans might think a slow start to the current NHL season and blowing off an orientation camp are silly reasons to pass over the guy; it matters what Hockey Canada thinks. I just find the outrage as misguided as Giroux's decision not to attend the camp and any hissy fit on the part of Hockey Canada.

Personally, I think he's as much a "victim" of Jordan Staal Syndrome than anything else. It's about roles, and he's still so young. He wasn't going to play C over the other guys Canada has available to them. He's played wing (R, I believe) before, but even at wing he finds himself right now behind a wealth of talent and the MSL Olympic Farewell Tour. His time will come, and it should be well-deserved.

@mikey

Part of it is that we're talking about 13th F. At that point, I want the most versatile player....and I see that as Giroux.

If Stamkos had just been healthy :( , it wouldn't matter.

There is a good chance that Russia and Canada could be eliminated before they reach the USA, if the USA makes the finals.

If Canada is 3rd seed, it would be the 2 vs. 3 in the semi right?

4. Can/Fin

7. Slo? Cze?
8. Slo? Cze?

USA will almost certainly play the winner of this game in the semis.

not true.
I don't understand then.

The seedings don't matter then?

1 doesn't play 4
2 doesn't play 3

Confused.
