I think Canada's problem is too many head coaches on the bench.

No, he wouldn't.
He might have been so out of position on the initial shot that he would have been right there to stop the deflection.

They sealed their doom the moment they passed over Giroux the second time.

Despite your sarcasm, he probably should have made the team.

He's talented enough to make it, no doubt. But what does he bring that others don't? And what separates him from others that were also left off? Canada has a lot of natural centers already...Giroux is not fast at all and he's not a shooter...he's a small-ish, average skating, playmaker...he has superb playmaking skill, don't get me wrong...but they made the right call, there's not really a place he fits on this team...

Taking all emotion out of the situation, I think he's a more useful hockey player than the February 2014 version of Martin St. Louis.

Yep. His quote was something like "I play with him, I know his style". Should be interesting when both are back playing for LA.
Sorry, just seeing this ... it looked to me like he did when viewed from the net cam. But, hey, whatever works!

Yeah, I have no issue with Claude Giroux. I know exactly what he is. And I certainly respect your opinion on it, but I don't agree with it. St. Louis is a natural winger, better goal scorer (though a natural playmaker), much faster, energetic, plays better defensively now than Giroux has played in the last couple years...

St. Louis' ability to accept passes in stride and protect with speed is a useful skill on the wider ice and it's something that Giroux cannot do as effectively...

If Giroux is on the team, I don't lose any sleep over it...in fact, I might defend it depending on who the "other guy" is...
