So were the Coneheads names based on Slovenians or is it just a coincidence?

Russia may have just scored. They were celebrating, but ref said no goal. It will be reviewed but there hasn't been a whistle in a while.

okay, so goal differential considering IF russia loses, they all have 1 win, rotation of wins, and it'd go to differential.pressure=9Pa wrote:Recordcount2infinity wrote:Let's say Russia loses today, what's the tie breaker? Russia picked up a point with an OT loss.count2infinity wrote:okay, so goal differential considering IF russia loses, they all have 1 win, rotation of wins, and it'd go to differential.pressure=9Pa wrote:Recordcount2infinity wrote:Let's say Russia loses today, what's the tie breaker? Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
If they really need to reward the OTL with a point in the NHL, I endorse the Olympic points format of having 3 points available for all games and in an OT/SO situation winner gets two, loser gets one.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
The game matters to Russia because if they win, and Canada/Finland is settled in regulation, they will get the four seed and a bye. Looks like US is the 3 if Canada/Finland ends after regulation, and the 2 if it goes OT.

I dont support any scenario where a loser gets anything. The winner should be penalized for not winning in regulation though.

Certainly goes well with the NHL's ludicrous playoff seeding.pressure=9Pa wrote:100% agree.PghSkins wrote:If they really need to reward the OTL with a point in the NHL, I endorse the Olympic points format of having 3 points available for all games and in an OT/SO situation winner gets two, loser gets one.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
Assuming the US holds on, Russia needs a regulation win for a bye. An OT win and they would lose the tie-breaker to the Canada-Finland loser, unless it's a 4 goal margin.
