I haven't seen all his games, but I'm guessing this has been one of the worst periods of Kane's life. Just brutal

It was really bad but on the flip side, JVR has been showing some great hands and hockey IQ.Staggy wrote:I haven't seen all his games, but I'm guessing this has been one of the worst periods of Kane's life. Just brutal

Oh that Leafs plus Pavelski line has been fabulous, I'm definitely most comfortable when they're on the ice.pronovost19 wrote:It was really bad but on the flip side, JVR has been showing some great hands and hockey IQ.Staggy wrote:I haven't seen all his games, but I'm guessing this has been one of the worst periods of Kane's life. And I'm already mentally preparing myself for Ovechkin ripping in a one timer and then throwing himself through the glass. Just get it over with quickly.

Related...I know he's having an "off year", but I will not be satisfied until Brown is a Penguin.shafnutz05 wrote:My JVR man crush is fully activated
It will never happen, I'm sure.

On the other hand, at least we can rejoice knowing we didn't give Parise that contract. He's a good player but has anybody even noticed him this tournament?columbia wrote:Related...I know he's having an "off year", but I will not be satisfied until Brown is a Penguin.shafnutz05 wrote:My JVR man crush is fully activated

Yeah Parise has been invisible. Not surprising that the more role type players, relative to this team anyway, are stepping up. Give me Callahan, Kesler, and Backes all day

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
I've been disappointed with Zach. Not strong enough on the puck. Had a chance to keep that small-area cycle game that I was talking about earlier alive, and didn't account for the spacing difference with the extra 7.5 feet of ice on your side of the rink...too soft...doesn't have enough superhuman skill to cash on the rush...we need more grind out of him for sure...
JVR will pick up his slack and so will MaxPac. Both guys that can up the man quotient...but it'd be nice if we had more Zach here, he does not look comfortable...maybe too much yogurt...
I'd like to say something about the goal against. Carlson is wide of the dots and Edzo picks on that, but he's taking the strong side and that's ok, that's a fine read. When that read happens, Orpik has responsibility for back side protect and with no one wide of Orpik, he can take the middle of the ice. I think he opens his hips and pushes with his inside skate and takes a stride outside instead of flattening out inside...Orpik carries a fair amount of responsibility on that goal from my point of view...

John Buccigross @Buccigross 2m
This morning is a glaring example that taking two weeks off every four years is great for the game. Packed bars, bros hangin, families...

@Buccigross it's a nice counter to the lockouts every seven or eight years.
