In the NHL Carlson can get away with anticipating strong dump, but not on wide ice surface.
Pronovst is correct, I played some tournaments in Sweden growing up, you really don't understand the larger ice surface until you play on it, the lines and angles are so much different.

Orpik probably should have shifted over to more center ice to cover up, but the goal is not on him, he was in he correct position, you don't go outside the dots
