Not even an honorable mention for Letang? Boo.

That's pretty tough criticism for a contract that hasn't even started yet.dodint wrote:Not even an honorable mention for Letang? Boo.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
That's why I figured it would be an honorable mention. That roster of 12+ people whose contracts just feel bad but aren't quite substantial enough to earn a spot, yet. Lots of people don't like the Letang deal, but is there anyone that feels good about it?

We'll all feel good about it soon enough.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Yeah, sorry. I know it's kind of a broken record. I just kept reading it expecting it to come and it never did. It is what it is, and no one was commenting on anything in the article.

You didn't even give anyone a chance to comment on anything in the article since you were the first post in.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
That Clarkson contract was a super dumb move.
I love it.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Regardless of Letang's play, the article clearly states it's for current contracts, not extensions that have yet to kick in.

Touche.
I'll be sure to give all future Grantland articles the academic respect and dignitity they deserve in the future and will file my comments accordingly as per your recommendation.
Speaking of, it's hard to believe Staal is only 25. I hope he gets him game together soon.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
For that list they are only considering contracts that are currently in effect. Letang's hasn't kicked in yet so it wasn't taken into consideration.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Since Letang's contract hasn't started yet, I don't think it was eligible for this particular list.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Not to mention it would have to actually be a bad contract in order to be considered for this list.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Says Suter is elite / calls contract one of the league's worst.jpg
Roman Josi is on the list because the person has never seen him play, he's very good player. Grow up.
Campbell has been one of the league's better d-men in the past couple years. The contract is a little wonky, but it's really not that bad.
Bozak isn't anything special. But he's a top line center that doesn't appear to be holding back JVR or Kessel, and covers for them defensively...
The rest aren't really worthy of further comment...

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
Yeah that list is pretty horrible. Lots of contracts that are fine on there.

Or short ones, in the case of Subban.meow wrote:The name of the article should have been

I nominate this as one of the worst hockey articles I've read this morning.

Re: Hockey’s Worst Contracts
No issues with Quick's' contract. Agreed obviously on Clowe and Clarkson. It is great to be an unrestricted free agent.......
