Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
Amd now time to switch gears. While the opposition was really poor (Switzerland) the USA women showed me something today. Extreme speed and puck possession. Won the game 9-0, and probably played in the Switzerland end for at least 45 minutes. And Phil Kessell's sis is the better player in that family. That said, the real test comes on Thursday, vs from that other team from North America with some dude named Crosby, who I hear is pretty good.
Oh and kudos to the Swiss goalie. Left her in there for the whole game and she faced over 50 shots and never backed down despite little to no help from her team.

Is anything going on Saturday morning for the game vs the Soviets? I thought maybe somewhere on Carson Street would open early and have a prix fixe party or something.

For those who can't stream Team USA's Thursday game at work, ESPN Radio 970 will carry it live.

There's some viewing party at Stage AE sponsored by the Pens I believe. But there's a fee to get in and the food and drinks aren't free and seating is first come first served.pittsoccer33 wrote:Is anything going on Saturday morning for the game vs the Soviets? As it is a Sunday, my only question is will the Pastor have the 3rd period on the big screen during church?

USA Women just got screwed big time by the Olympic officials. Good thing this isn't the medal round.

I'm watching regardless, but I thought it was during the weekend anyways. But yeah, if it happened to be during the week I'd still take off for it, no matter who was playing.no name wrote:So who is taking off work if USA is playing for the gold medal??? 7 .a.m start.

Nope, I got it on. Sweden has been dominant so far, their defense is going to be a huge difference maker in this tournament.Gaucho wrote:Am I the only one watchng CZE-SWE now?

I'm asking because I wasn't sure if you get to see it live in NA and I better used spoilers.
The Czechs don't look good at all, maybe unsurprisingly so.

All the games are live in the United States. I believe the USA and Canadian games are also rebroadcasted later in the day as well.
