Well, how many of the natural RWers bring a strong two-way game?

Carter - When he's on. But I recall his best two-way season was at center.
Nash - no
Perry - no
Sharp is on the left (also, a natural center anyhow, but plays a lot of RW in the NHL) and then there's Bergeron who isn't a natural RWer, but is the best defensive forward on the team...

So you get a little something extra on that right side...Kunitz and Sharp play it both ways, Marleau is capable...

He was in my left wing list, but I don't make any transition to suggest that, so unless you're me, it's hard to figure out what I'm talking about...

Marleau rarely ever played the right because popular linemates Brent Burns, Joe Pavelski, Tommy Wingels and Matthew Nieto are all fairly capable...mostly the first two...

I find this interesting, as Sid doesn't need a pure sniper on his RW to succeed. I assume it's a bit of hyperbole, and that Carter will get more freedom that to simply rip a shot whenever he's passed the puck.

He will, but he is being put on that line to be a finisher. It's basically Babcock telling him not to pass up on opportunities to shoot - very similar to what Neal does for the Pens.

About: Chris Kunitz rides Sidney Crosby’s coattails on the Pittsburgh Penguins. To his credit, he’s a world-class coattail-rider, riding them all the way to the Olympics. If coattail-riding were an Olympic sport, and I haven’t checked, so it very may well be, Kunitz could win gold in it. He’ll likely start on Crosby’s line, because, you know, coattails, and because, somewhere along the line people decided that Crosby, the best player in the world, who significantly improves his linemates, is “difficult to play with.” Kunitz is actually a pretty good player, but there’s no chance he makes Team Canada if he didn’t play on Crosby’s line in Pittsburgh.
